Lone Star Lakes Pollinator Gardens Open Garden Days

Lone Star Lakes Park, 401 Kings Hwy, Suffolk · verified Jul 31
    See details

Explore the pollinator gardens at Lone Star Lakes Park during Open Garden Days, a chance to connect with Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners who cultivate these spaces and share their expertise each Friday. These sessions take place on the first Friday of each month during the growing season and include guided looks at the gardens, opportunities to help with light weeding, and conversations about what is growing and the purpose behind each planting. An old white truck with a sign in its bed marks the location near one of the park’s eleven gardens. Plans may change in bad weather. If a session is cancelled or a scheduled date is missed, visitors can stop by whenever the Master Gardeners are on site. They answer questions and provide information about the plants found throughout the pollinator areas. Virginia Cooperative Extension is a partnership of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and local governments and is an equal opportunity employer. For disability-related assistance or accommodations, contact Andrea Slye with VCE City of Suffolk at 757-514-4337. TDD 800-828-1120.
