Celebrate Halloween with a community car show and Trunk or Treat featuring Jeeps, trucks, sports cars, classic cars, UTVs, ATVs, custom builds, and more. Vehicle owners can decorate their rides, bring candy for trick-or-treaters, and take part in awards for the three best-dressed vehicles. Families can wear costumes, explore the decorated vehicles, and collect candy. Food from Shine on BBQ will be available, along with a raffle prize. Costumes are encouraged, and the event is open to the community.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse performs songs by David Bowie at The Atlantis in Washington D.C., DC. Babies younger than one can attend at no cost, and tickets are available to the general public.

The annual 11th & Bark Halloween Costume Contest takes place at Buddy’s DC and showcases plenty of four-legged flair and creativity. Expect spooky getups, charming outfits, and lots of canine personality on display. Awards will be given in several categories, including scariest look, cutest costume, most original idea, and best human and dog combo. Look for doggie giveaways, a raffle with prizes, and ribbons for the winners, plus ultimate bragging rights. Costumes are encouraged, all pups are welcome, and leashes are required. Pre-registration is available.

Culpeper Downtown gets a playful dose of spooky fun as Culpeper Renaissance, Inc., the community’s nonprofit Main Street organization, brings back its annual Downtown Merchant Trick-or-Treat. Costumed children can wander through the heart of downtown while merchants and community partners hand out treats, creating a cheerful scene filled with candy, creative outfits, and family-friendly excitement. From tiny pumpkins and giggling ghosts to superheroes and witches, little revelers are invited to show off their Halloween spirit and collect goodies along the way. Afterward, families can keep the outing going by browsing locally owned shops and grabbing a bite at nearby restaurants, showing support for the small businesses that help make downtown special. More than a chance to gather sweets, this tradition celebrates community, local merchants, and the shared Halloween magic that comes from meeting in the center of Culpeper.

A friendly, hands-on family clay class introduces the pinch pot method as everyone builds a Thanksgiving or harvest themed turkey. Customize your creation with playful touches like a top hat, big feathers or a tiny bow tie. This is a pottery project, not something to nibble on. Please bring a hand towel and wear clothing that can get clay or paint on it. Suitable for ages 6 and up. Children who are 6 must attend with a parent. Families may take part together, and anyone who wants to make their own piece should register separately. Parents who are creating an artwork need to register, while parents who are only assisting a child do not. Tuition includes all clay, access to communal tools, and multiple firings. Instruction is led by Genevieve Ivan. Attendance is limited to 12 participants.

Sensory Friendly Hours offers a quieter, more comfortable museum experience for children and families, with dimmed lights, no music, and a smaller crowd. The calm, welcoming environment allows visitors to explore and play at their own pace. RSVP is required, and space is limited.

A relaxed, private visit with Santa at Jessica Green Photography puts the focus on wonder instead of hurry. Families spend one-on-one time with a real, bearded Santa while a photographer captures the moments, and 15 digital images are included. An optional full family portrait is available. Thoughtful touches add to the magic, including a cookie from Mrs. Claus and a gift that Santa can present when provided by you. Edited photos are delivered after the session.
