    Latin American Connection Celebration

    A festive day in the park celebrates Latin American music, flavors, dance, culture, and art, presented by BCA in collaboration with the Vermont Professionals of Color Network, Maiz Vargas Sandoval, Love Burlington, and Church Street Marketplace. The celebration begins with a community parade featuring Sambatucada, then continues with a full slate of performances and cultural highlights. The lineup includes DJ Amanda, Cintia Lovo, Los Songoros, Sonido Mal Maiz, and Alma Picante, with appearances by Laura Sanchez-Parkinson and Ray Vega. Community spotlights feature the Vermont Professionals of Color Network and UVM Alianza de Latines. Traditional dance is part of the program, including Mexican folkloric dance with Anna with DJ Jah Red, and Costa Rican folkloric dance with Lily with additional sets by DJ Jah Red, plus a Snow Motion dance class. Support for the celebration comes from Alchemist Brewery, the Vermont Professionals of Color Network, the City of Burlington's Office of Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Burlington City Arts, Hotel Vermont, Maiz Vargas Sandoval, and Vermont community members. BCA's Summer in the City also receives backing from the Pomerleau Family Foundation, Burlington Telecom, Myti, Soundtoys, Lake Champlain Chocolates, American Flatbread Burlington, Mothership Brewery, and media sponsors Seven Days and WCAX.
