Celebrate community patriotism by helping display U.S. flags, with more than 200 to set up and later take down. Volunteers meet at the old fire station to start in the morning and return later in the day for removal. People of all ages are welcome to participate.

Kelso's long-standing celebration of Scottish heritage fills Tam O'Shanter Park with a weekend of Highland games, Celtic music, dance, and community spirit. Now in its 44th year and counted among the Pacific Northwest's enduring Highland gatherings, the festival features athletic competitions, performances by Beltaine and Wicked Tinkers, a Highland dance competition, a Parade of Clans, clan tents, a parade through downtown Kelso, a beer garden by Ashtown Brewing Company, food and craft vendors, a silent auction, and the Kelso Garden Club Flower Show. Admission and parking are free, and the atmosphere is welcoming for families. This city-sponsored celebration is organized entirely by volunteers and supported by sponsors.

Operating since 1979, the Cowlitz Community Farmers Market brings a lively open-air marketplace filled with fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, eggs, meats, handmade crafts, and hot food from area vendors. Live music from local artists adds to the welcoming vibe. Entry is free, the event welcomes families and pets, and parking is conveniently nearby. Saturdays typically host more than 50 vendors, while a smaller Tuesday market offers around 20 for a simple midweek stop. Vendor applications are open and spots tend to go quickly. Among the region’s longest running farmers markets, it offers an easy way to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses.

Quest at the Crossing transforms Three Rivers Crossing into a whimsical marketplace centered on trading cards, collectibles, and pop culture while showcasing area makers and creators. Browse vendors with fantasy, wizard, renaissance, and geek themes, explore a dedicated Trading Card Alley hosted by Legendary Retro, and take part in interactive activities throughout the Crossing. A cosplay competition adds to the festivities. Admission is free and open to the public, vendor opportunities are available, and in person signups with Legendary Retro are offered for Trading Card Alley.
