For one year, he is foraging every bite of his food and medicine, skipping grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, and even a garden. Nature is his garden, and he is traveling to educate about the foods and remedies that grow freely all around. Participants are introduced to more than ten common local plants, with guidance on safe identification, sustainable harvesting, and simple strategies for successful foraging. The walk is designed to be accessible to all experience levels. The route typically totals less than half a mile and stays within about a ten minute walk of the starting point. Meet at the Lotus Pond. The aim is for attendees to leave informed, motivated, and connected with a supportive community that can make foraging a meaningful part of everyday life. The event takes place rain or shine, and if extreme weather requires a cancellation, organizers will email a notice the day of the event. A suggested donation of $10 to $40 supports the nonprofit Regeneration, Equity and Justice, and scholarships are available to ensure financial accessibility.
