The championship picture heats up with a key stop at Ricks Hobby Farm before the finale. The event opens with practice and then moves into a full slate of racing. Classes include Sportsman, 40+ E-Truck, 40+ E-Buggy, 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 1/8 E-Truck, 40+ Nitro for buggy or truck, 1/8 E-Buggy, and 1/8 Nitro Truggy. Entry fees are Nitro $35, Electric $30, and Sportsman $25. Competitors of every experience level are encouraged to take part.

Music Mayhem brings its high-energy music trivia to Running Aces Casino, Hotel & Racetrack. As songs play, participants use their phones to enter both the title and the artist, and quicker correct answers earn higher scores. Lively Trivia Jockeys keep the crowd engaged throughout the event, with prize opportunities between rounds and grand prizes.

This all ages show features Them Coulee Boys. The five-piece from Eau Claire, Wisconsin blends punk energy with the narrative drive of Americana and bluegrass. Expect driving banjo, catchy mandolin lines, and rich multi-part harmonies that build a lively, sing-along atmosphere. Community members gather for a suicide awareness walk focused on connection, hope, and raising funds for prevention programs in Polk County. It is a time to remember loved ones and to support one another while strengthening local resources. Keynote speaker Dawn M. Rogers, an author, emcee, speaker, and advocate, shares a message shaped by her experience after the loss of her daughter, Olivia. She speaks with honesty and encouragement about grief, resilience, and the possibility of healing so no one feels alone. The morning starts with registration alongside coffee and food vendors and a resource fair with local organizations. A dove release leads into the start of the memorial 5K run and walk. Throughout the event there is live music in the park, activities for children, and an inspirational photo booth for keepsake pictures, with plenty of time to connect with friends, family, and neighbors. Participants may complete the full 5K route or choose a shorter distance. Options to register, form a team, donate, or sponsor are available.

Set out for a scenic pedal at the ALS MN Bike Ride, beginning at the Scandia MN Community Center. This ride follows quiet country roads in rural Washington County, passing horse farms, moving through small towns, and winding along forested lanes. Riders may follow the route on their own or travel with a ride marshal and a group. Coffee and treats are available before the start, and the group gathers for lunch at a local venue afterward. The ride also serves a charitable purpose by building awareness of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Event captains Rita Wilczek and Alan Wichman lead in memory of Rita’s brother Mark and sister Lynn. There is no registration fee. Route options are available and registered riders receive GPS links. Free will donations support the ALS Therapy Development Institute, a research organization dedicated to developing treatments and ultimately a cure. Donations are confidential, will be tallied toward a corporate match, and supporters are encouraged to designate their gift to Mark and Lynn’s Team.

Country Loft Quilt & Design marks the opening of its new location with a weekend-long celebration. The event includes a warm welcome for shop hoppers. One day of the festivities coincides with the Almelund Apple Festival, offering a chance to enjoy the festival, explore the town, and visit the new shop.

Spend a meaningful day volunteering with ARC at Farmaste Animal Sanctuary. Tasks include cleaning barns and taking on other essential chores that support the animals, and there may be an opportunity to meet some of the sanctuary residents once the work is complete. Capacity is limited to 10 volunteers, so advance registration through POINT is needed. All participants must complete Farmaste’s waiver, available in the POINT event details. An ATV and side-by-side fall ride takes place at Cedar Creek Inn/Cedar Creek Bar & Grill in support of veterans through the VFW Auxiliary. Adults contribute $10 each, with proceeds helping veterans in need in the area. When participants return to Cedar Creek, food will be available for a free will donation. Added fun includes 50/50 boards, a dice game called shake with chances to win gift cards, and raffle prizes. Tickets will be sold on the day of the event at 6 for $5.

Learn the traditional craft of rug hooking at WHAT Art School with instructor Alycen Brothen. Participants use wool fabric strips on a linen base to make two coordinating coasters while practicing essential skills like forming loops, working straight and curved lines, and finishing edges. This single four hour class is designed for ages 16 and up and is limited to 10 students for focused instruction. All materials are provided, and designs may differ. By the end of the session, participants leave with at least one finished coaster and supplies to begin a second. Member pricing is $36 plus a $50 materials fee and an $8 administrative fee. Non member pricing is $45 plus a $50 materials fee and an $8 administrative fee.

Fresh Threads Boutique brings a mobile selection of low cost clothing for men, women, and children to Pentecostals of New Richmond. Everyone is welcome. A suggested donation of $1 per clothing item supports the Fresh Express Mobile Food Market so fresh food can be provided at no cost to those in need. This is an outdoor event, with shopping taking place inside the buses, and the church facility will be open for refreshments and restrooms. It is a short stop, so plan accordingly.

Explore needle felting in a hands-on class that covers both flat, picture-style pieces and sculpted forms. Learn about fibers, tools, and methods, then create a 2D wool design and build a small 3D figure such as a bird or bunny. All supplies are included, and participants keep the needles and materials to finish their projects or continue experimenting at home. Led by instructor Pam Anderson, this workshop is open to ages 15 and up. The cost is $42, and members can apply their membership code for 20 percent off classes. Held at Hallberg Center for the Arts. The Officer Shawn Silvera Memorial 5K pays tribute to Officer Shawn Silvera, who lost his life in the line of duty during a high speed pursuit. Observing the 21st E.O.W. anniversary, this community event combines remembrance with purpose by raising funds for the Invisible Wounds Project and the Minnesota Law Enforcement Explorers Scholarship. Invisible Wounds Project joins with the Silvera family to create a race day centered on unity and support. Participants can choose to run or walk, individually or as part of a team.

Market at the 45th hosts Wilder Waffles alongside many other vendors, featuring a menu of sweet and savory choices. Look for six sweet waffle varieties and breakfast sandwiches built on their waffles, along with signatures such as the Italian Honeybee, a stuffed pepperoni pizza waffle, and El Waffle Libre, a Cubano waffle sandwich. Drinks include hot and iced espresso, creative cold brew concoctions, and flavored lemonades, plus root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. Everything is made from scratch with a gourmet touch, and the waffles are made with a brioche, yeast-raised dough that includes Belgian pearl sugar which caramelizes inside the waffle.

This Minnesota duo spans vintage rock, country, 90s alternative, and pop, and they are known for lively performances and a broad catalog that keeps the music flowing.

A weekly peer gathering focused on connection, reflection, and shared experience invites participants to arrive just as they are. The aim is to ease isolation and offer a place to be heard or to listen, with no expectation to perform, explain, or fix anything. Conversations emphasize genuine check ins about what feels settled and what feels unsettled, a focus on common humanity rather than giving advice or solutions, and listening with care and respect. There is room for both speaking and quiet moments. Sharing is always voluntary. Each person chooses what to share and how much. Silence is welcomed and honored. The group is open ended, so people can join, step away, or come back when needed. This space is intended for military personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, frontline medical professionals, corrections staff, and 911 dispatchers.

This free, in-person talk at New Richmond Community Library in New Richmond, Wisconsin explores what science currently shows about psychedelic medicines and what is overstated. Long dismissed in medical circles, substances such as LSD and psilocybin are now being studied for their potential to help with hard-to-treat psychiatric conditions. The program reviews the history of this field, surveys up-to-date research, and considers what these findings could mean for mental health care and for understanding consciousness. Jimmy Barlow brings experience in study coordination, data collection and analysis, and technical support, including recruitment, participant screening, MATLAB programming, TMS-EEG and high-density EEG analyses, REDCap design, and taVNS training. His previous work includes undergraduate research with the Center for Sleep and Consciousness on brain stimulation during sleep and with the Boly Lab on seizures and postictal delirium. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is completing a post-baccalaureate internship with the lab before furthering his education in medicine and research. No registration is required, and there is no virtual option.

Hallberg Center for the Arts and Chisago Lakes ECFE host a free art and storytime for children from birth to age 3 and their caregivers. The session starts with a story or a sing-along with the instructors, followed by a hands-on activity where little ones paint apple slices and use them as stamps to create their own prints. Experiences like this help build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, independence, problem solving, and creativity. Siblings are welcome. Led by Surelle Strike and Jess Eischens at Chisago Lakes Primary Elementary School.
