This memory café at the Senior Center of Platteville offers a friendly, supportive gathering for people experiencing forgetfulness or changes in thinking, along with their family and friends. While every café has its own approach, they share the goal of helping guests feel at ease and reminding them they are not alone. Participants can connect with others who understand, set aside limitations to focus on strengths, enjoy one another’s company, and discover something new.

The first Dubuque Night Meet brings together cars, trucks, and bikes for an evening gathering hosted at the Finnin Ford dealership. Event parking costs $10 cash per vehicle, while spectator entry is free. Parking will be regulated, so groups that arrive together can park together and saving spaces is not allowed. Daily drivers are asked to use alternative parking and walk in. VIP packages offer prime reserved parking and photos of your ride. Food will be available from Hibachi Time and drinks from Grind Coffee. A 2-Step Contest is planned later in the evening, and organizers are looking to make Dubuque part of their regular rotation with more plans for next season.

The North American National Normande Show will be held at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point, WI. The public is welcome to attend. Normande breeders and owners are eligible to exhibit, and all cattle shown must be registered in, or eligible for, the NANA herd book. A complete class list is available on the NANA website. Marking its 12th anniversary, this Family Adventure Day at Blackhawk Lake Rec Area features a variety of activity stations. Plans include art among the pines, bluebird house activities, hikes on the Enchanted Trails, fishing, and more. Additional details will be announced as plans come together.

This annual, family-friendly Oktoberfest at Q Casino features the Guttenberg German Band, a tradition since the festival began, performing on the new Backstage area. Activities include wiener dog races, a stein-holding contest, polka dance lessons, and children’s games, with more to discover. As a nonprofit celebration, all proceeds benefit Camp Albrecht Acres, a residential summer camp for people with special needs. There will be plenty of music for all ages.

Fans gather at the Grand River Convention Center in downtown Dubuque for a marketplace and cosplay celebration focused on pop culture. Attendees can buy or sell vintage video games, trading card game cards, posters, comics, toys, Funko Pops, and other collectibles. A cosplay showcase features $300 in prizes, with full details to be announced during the week of the event.
