Friday nights bring cozy campfires on the beach and two warming fire pits in the beer garden, followed by a big bonfire in front of the Kenosha Beach House. This open-to-the-public gathering requires no tickets and features a rotating lineup of entertainment, including themed DJ nights, live music, and other activities. Food and drinks, including s’more kits, are available at the concessions window, and alcoholic beverages are served in the beer garden. Bonfires are weather dependent, so check social media for updates if rain or high winds are in the forecast. Seating is available with chairs and benches in the beer garden and on the beach, and guests may bring their own. A blanket is recommended for extra warmth. Alcohol is not permitted on the beach, and beer and wine must be finished within the beer garden, with no carry-in alcoholic beverages allowed. Leashed pets are welcome in the beer garden, inside the Beach House, and on the walking path around the Beach House, but they are not permitted on the sandy beach. For those visiting with pets, the fire pit in the beer garden is a good spot to sit by the fire together.

This new play by Racine playwright Amy Hanson was developed through OOHP’s Root Cause program and is featured as part of World Premiere Wisconsin. The story unfolds in an ICU after an overdose, following a mother and her two daughters through a single night as old conflicts resurface and surprising truths come to light. Written by Amy Hanson and directed by Diane Carlson, the production features Tina Paukstelis, Virginia Hartley, Dana Roders, Claud Kling, Kim Emer, and Patti Fitchett. The show runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. Tickets are $26 plus fees, with a student price of $17.50 plus fees with a school ID. Presented at Sixth Street Theatre.

Beach evenings glow with small campfires on the sand and two fire pits in the beer garden, followed later by a large bonfire in front of the Kenosha Beach House. This public gathering does not require tickets and features a changing lineup that can include themed DJ nights, live music, and other activities. Food and beverages are available at the concessions window, with s’more kits for purchase, and beer and wine served in the beer garden. Alcohol is not allowed on the beach, and outside alcoholic drinks are prohibited, so any beer or wine bought on site must be finished within the beer garden. Bonfires are weather dependent, so check social media for updates if rain or high winds are expected. Seating is provided in the beer garden and on the beach, and personal chairs are welcome. Bringing a blanket is recommended for extra warmth. Leashed pets are permitted in the beer garden, inside the Beach House, and on the walking path around it, but not on the sandy beach, and those attending with pets can enjoy the fire pit located in the beer garden.

Options include single sit-on-top kayaks that are beginner friendly, stable, and track well, rented for 45 minutes at $16 with a paddle and life jacket included, with a 275 lb maximum. Doubles are available in a 12-foot tandem for two, supplied with paddles and life jackets, rented for 45 minutes at $32 and rated to 475 lbs. Pedal craft include duck boats for up to four people with at least one adult required, priced at $12 per adult and $8 per child for 45 minutes, with a 550 lb capacity; entering the channel carries a $50 fee. Tours are guided by volunteer historians who share insight into the area’s past. Racine Starving Artists Fair
At the DeKoven Center in Racine, the Racine Art Guild’s Starving Artist Fair fills a park with original work from more than 130 juried artists. About a quarter of the exhibitors hail from Racine County, while others travel from across the Midwest, bringing paintings, photography, ceramics, glass, mixed media, metalwork, fine jewelry, and more. Alongside the art, find food, music, and creative activities for children at Kids Korner. Visitors can bid in a Silent Auction of donated pieces, browse the Racine Art Guild Boutique, and enter a raffle featuring artwork contributed by Guild members. The event is free to attend and typically draws around 5,000 people to a setting with views of Lake Michigan. Proceeds support the Racine Art Guild College Scholarship Fund, which provides up to four $1,000 awards each year to local artists pursuing degrees in fine art.

Buckets Pub 2nd Round hosts the Fall Harvest Street Market, a free, all-ages outdoor celebration that closes out the Buckets Street Market season with a cozy autumn vibe. The day features local shopping, family friendly activities, and food and drinks from Buckets. Pumpkin themed fun includes complimentary pumpkins for the first 30 children while supplies last, a pumpkin decorating station open to kids and adults, a decorating contest with prizes, and a fall photo spot. Vendors include Accidentally Fabulous, Birdie Legacy Company, Cheese Lab Designs, Confidential Goods, Freckleface Farm, Geneevable Creations, GG’s Gifts, Mana Cannery, Michelle’s Creations Racine, Moon & Bloom Enchantments, Mystical Magical Me, Little Love Creations, J&M Custom Crafts, Jackson Candy Stand, Garden Keepsakes, UV3 Designs by Val, A Bloody Good Time, Nikki’s Scentsy, and Soul 2 Soul Expressions. Special areas add to the experience, including a Kids Tent with Fun on the Run children’s entertainment and Paint’d by Celi face painting, plus a Mystic Tent offering tarot readings by Tarot by Ash. Featured spaces include the Racine Connect Tent with The Inclusive Bean, along with a Demo Hobby Tent and a Health and Wellness Tent that have openings. Extras round out the festivities with a prize wheel and giveaways, a market passport that rewards shopping, and plenty of fall harvest flair.
