The prompts are arranged as one for each week of summer, so complete them weekly, all at once, or revisit the same spot to notice how it changes over the season. Sheboygan County Museum reimagines a cherished local tradition at Vollrath Bowl and Vollrath Park. From 1935 to 2011, the Lantern Parade concluded the recreation department’s summer playground program and at times drew thousands who built themed lanterns, marched, watched skits, and enjoyed a flashlight dance. This contemporary version welcomes children and families to connect with local history through hands-on creativity at museum-hosted lantern-making tables, followed by a community parade that showcases the handmade lights. Lantern making is free, and the parade is free.
