The Prattville Rotary Club hosts a weekly gathering centered on fellowship, service, and community connection. Montgomery Pride United offers a support group for adults 19 and older who are trans, gender nonconforming, or questioning. It provides a welcoming place to talk through challenges and celebrate successes. Sessions take place at the Bayard Rustin Community Center and are led by a transgender Alabama state certified peer specialist.

This fall luncheon at the Wetumpka Civic Center brings together members of the Chamber and community leaders for a shared meal, conversation, and updates on ongoing Chamber projects, with time to build connections across the local business community. At the Post, bingo and a Queen of Hearts game take center stage, featuring a blackout bingo jackpot of $925 with 50 numbers in play and a Queen of Hearts jackpot of $1,030 with 54 cards remaining. The atmosphere is friendly and social, offering lighthearted fun and a sense of camaraderie.

Deep In The Cave is a peer-led conversation series for Same Gender Loving Men of Color ages 18 and older in the Montgomery River Region. These community-based conversations provide a judgment free safe space where Black Same Gender Loving Men build acceptance, support, and an inclusive environment to be themselves without fear of discrimination or harm. Created by and for the community, the series grows through the participation and leadership of those who attend. Attendance is limited to Same Gender Loving Men of Color only. Light food will be served, and the suggested attire is come as you are.

Now in its fourth year, this juried fine art competition is part of the Wetumpka Wildlife Festival and is sponsored by the Alabama Wildlife Federation and LIV Development. It runs alongside the Art Gone Wild exhibition, with a focus on celebrating Alabama’s wildlife and recognizing exceptional artistic talent. Submission is free for artists. Purchase prizes include Best of Show at $12,000, Award of Excellence at $7,000, Best of Song & Shore at $5,000, and three Merit Awards at $750.

Experience a two-hour cruise aboard the Harriott II with a plated dinner prepared by a local chef, live entertainment, and a full bar with drinks available for purchase. It offers a relaxed start to the weekend for families and friends. Choose a dinner ticket with reserved indoor seating on the first or second deck, or opt for a ride-only patio ticket with outdoor, general admission seating on the third deck that is first come, first served. Patio tickets do not include a meal, but guests can order from the Wheel House Grille and visit a cash bar. For September and October, the dinner menu features a choice of pork ribeye with dressing or chicken breast with dressing, served with a garden salad, sweet potato soufflé, whole green beans, a roll, and key lime pie. Non-alcoholic drinks are included with dinner. Indoor dinner seating is $65 for adults and $35 for children. Ride-only patio tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children.

The Wiregrass Heritage Festival features a lineup of live entertainment with performances by Marcellus The Singer, West Love, Young Guy, Cupid, Tonio Armani, Anthony Q, Mr Campbell, and Breeze MrDoTooMuch, plus DJ Trucker and comedian MC Lightfoot.

Mississippi Valley State’s Delta Devils travel to Montgomery for a gridiron meeting with Alabama State’s Hornets at ASU Stadium. With conference play on the horizon, both teams look to set the tone beneath the early evening lights.
