The Humane Society of Elmore County marks the 20th anniversary of Bark in the Park at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka. Expect a full day of activity with vendors, food, demonstrations, a Microchip Clinic, Blessing of the Pets, a Pet Parade, event T-shirts available for $20, pet contests, adoptable dogs, and raffle baskets themed around dogs, cats, coffee, and wine. A favorite tradition, the Pup Parade, showcases dogs of all sizes in imaginative costumes. To celebrate the milestone year, participants can get creative with small parade floats made from kids wagons, strollers, small carts, or cardboard creations. Large vehicles such as flatbeds, pickups, or convertibles are not part of the parade.
