Set at Almaden Lake Park, this community fundraising walk from the Children’s Tumor Foundation brings together people affected by neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis, along with their families, friends, and supporters, for a family friendly day of connection and purpose. The event raises awareness of NF, which impacts over 4 million people worldwide, and fuels the science aimed at getting treatments to patients more quickly. Every step taken helps fund research, strengthens care, and moves progress toward better therapies and, one day, a cure. Participants can start or join a team, invite loved ones to take part, and walk to make a difference. There is no cost to register.

A community celebration of fun, family, and inclusion for everyone takes place at Brentwood City Park. There is no cost to attend, and activities include arts and crafts, a dance party, sensory play, sports, vendors, and other family-friendly experiences. It offers a welcoming space to create memories together with the local community. Volunteers will gather at the McDonalds in the area and travel by car from encampment to encampment to share hot meals and distribute clothing to unhoused neighbors in Sacramento. Carpooling is encouraged to help the group move efficiently between stops. The organizers welcome donations of clothing, with a particular need for men’s items and warm layers as temperatures cool, along with food and cases of water. A small team will provide prepared food on site and requests additional support from those able to contribute supplies. RSVP is requested by the organizers. This effort centers on dignity, compassion, and practical support for people who have been displaced and may not have a network to rely on, with the goal of leaving everyone met feeling a little more cared for.

Experience Argentine Tango with a welcoming group at Tango On Broadway at Mission Oaks Community Center. Separate beginner and intermediate classes are offered, followed by a practice session. The first class is free through Mission Oaks Community Center’s standing offer. After that, pricing is $10 for the whole night or $30 for the whole month. Everyone sets their own pace and engages as much or as little as feels comfortable. Food and drinks are available for purchase in the lobby. It is a friendly setting for making friends, broadening your community, or simply trying something new while showing up as yourself.

Fresh, locally grown produce is rolling into North Sacramento at the Mobile Farmers Market, which appears on the first and third Friday of each month. Sponsored by Councilmember Roger Dickinson in collaboration with the Center for Land-Based Learning and Sierra Service Project, this market on wheels makes fruits and vegetables affordable and convenient while creating direct connections between shoppers and the farmers who grow their food. It reduces barriers to access by accepting SNAP/EBT and providing a 50 percent discount through Market Match. Most items come from nearby small farms, with the majority sourced within 25 miles and all within 100 miles. Offerings highlight culturally meaningful crops that can be hard to find in conventional stores, and farmers receive fair payment. The program also serves ethnically diverse, low-income neighborhoods in Yolo County identified as food insecure by the USDA, with promotional materials available in Russian, Farsi, and Spanish. Its focus is a healthier, more equitable and resilient local food system built through community involvement and support for beginning and small-scale growers.

The 8th Annual Mystique Market brings art, history and seasonal spirit to Sacramento Historic City Cemetery. Spread across 30 acres of historic grounds, the event showcases seventy vendors, artisans and makers arranged along peaceful paths, with distinctive wares, creative finds and opportunities to meet local creators. Guests can wander the cemetery’s walkways and soak in the atmosphere of this notable site while exploring a maze of imagination. Ambient music and visits from guest historians add context and mood, offering plenty of chances to discover curious, one-of-a-kind items. Admission is free, presented by The Altar Room Sacramento.
