Hidden City Sounds features the Bill Magee Blues Band with special guests the Anthony Cullins Trio. Bill Magee, a San Diego blues mainstay and award-winning bandleader, has been recognized as the region’s top blues outfit by the San Diego Music Association and Reader Magazine. Early in his journey he played alongside a young Jimi Hendrix in Jimmy James and the Flames, and his path stretches from the Apollo Theater to shared bills with B.B. Cullins, a guitarist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Fallbrook, blends R&B, funk, soul, rock, jazz, and blues into a swirling psych soul style, drawing inspiration from artists such as Eddie Hazel, Jeff Beck, George Benson, and Eric Johnson. He earned San Diego Music Awards honors as Best Blues Artist in 2023 and 2024, followed by Artist of the Year in 2025. He is at work on two studio albums and has expanded his touring to London, Norway, and throughout the United States.
