Socially Crafted Witches Hour First Friday Art Club

Herbs & Arts, 2015 E Colfax Ave, Denver
    See details

This art club invites people to explore their most creative, witchy side or any style that feels right in a welcoming environment free of judgment and gatekeeping. Participants work on an art or craft project designed to spark deeper learning and, in some cases, serve a role in personal spiritual practice. The aim is to hold space where Pagans and those with alternative lifestyles can speak openly, create, and be in community, to expand ideas of what art can be, and to affirm that art and magick are intertwined. There is no required fee, though a $10 donation per session is requested to help cover time and supplies, paid to the teacher during class with cash preferred. All materials for the project are provided, and attendees are welcome to bring their own supplies or continue something they are already making. Sessions typically last between two and four hours depending on the topic. A zero tolerance policy prohibits hate speech and discriminatory or disruptive behavior, and the safety of LGBTQIA2SP+ participants is prioritized. To maintain a protected space for queer and pagan attendees, these workshops are not designed to be fully open to everyone.

Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, 8640 Dahila St, Thornton · verified Aug 2
    See details

Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary opens its gates for an easygoing visit centered on kindness and connection with rescued farm animals. Wander through pens and pastures to meet residents from 23 species, with caretakers and volunteers nearby to introduce individual personalities and share moments from daily life. Every ticket directly supports animals recovering from neglect, abuse, or abandonment by funding veterinary care and lifelong safety. Pricing is intentionally accessible, with $10 admission in advance and $15 at the gate, and EBT or SNAP guests receive free entry with a card. To keep animals safe, outside food or drink is not allowed for people or animals, and companion animals are not permitted on the property or in vehicles. Everyone needs their own ticket, and any food or beverages offered on site are sold separately. Tickets are nonrefundable unless the event is canceled because of severe weather, and arrival on time is important since hours cannot be extended. This is a sanctuary, not a petting zoo. Many animals enjoy attention, but interactions are guided by their comfort. Move calmly, respect boundaries, and let each animal choose how to engage. Some residents are older, healing, or living with chronic conditions, and their care follows long term wellbeing with veterinary guidance. The sanctuary is reachable by public transit, close to the 88 bus line and within a short walk of rail service.
