    Unit 5 of this Floral Design Study series invites participants to keep building their arranging skills as part of a nine unit program presented by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs with the Council of Garden Clubs. The curriculum begins with six foundational classes, then moves into three sessions that emphasize creative techniques. Each class opens with a morning lecture and live demonstration in which the instructor assembles designs while explaining materials and methods. After lunch, students make their own arrangements and take part in a constructive group review. Most units are led by Penny Decker, an NGC Master Judge and Instructor who teaches and competes nationwide and whose work has appeared in Design Dimensions and Concepts magazines as well as FFGC and NGC calendars. Enrollment is limited to 20 students per session and advance registration is required. Tuition is $150 for Units 1 through 6, $75 for Units 7 through 9, or $200 for all nine units, with a $30 audit option available to those who have previously completed the series. Line materials, foliage, and flowers are provided for the first three classes. The program is open to everyone, students may repeat the series if they wish, and those who complete all nine lectures and workshops receive a Certificate of Achievement.
