MRC operates one of Florida’s largest licensed mangrove nurseries at its Sebastian property, caring for roughly 9,000 plants that include red, white, and black mangroves used in restoration projects across the state. This workshop invites volunteers to support nursery maintenance while learning about mangrove care and restoration efforts. Activities typically involve potting, repotting, weeding, and watering. Plan for Florida heat and humidity. Hats, water, sunscreen or UPF clothing, and closed-toe shoes are required. Gloves, shovels, and kneepads are available, and volunteers may bring their own. There is no bathroom or water refill station on site, so bring a filled water bottle.

Loaves and Fishes Fort Pierce, a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status, offers a free Sunday Dinner for neighbors experiencing homelessness or food insecurity in and around Fort Pierce. Alongside the meal, a complimentary commissary provides clothing, outdoor living supplies, and personal hygiene items, supported by donations from REACH Community Church and the St. Lucie County community.
