Building a Real Estate Career That Creates Wealth with Antonio Cousin

    610 6th St, Gretna · verified Aug 9
    Free

A free meetup focused on property investing brings together investors, landlords, flippers, real estate agents, contractors, lenders, wholesalers, and anyone curious about the field. The format highlights in-depth conversations with active Louisiana investors who are building portfolios and closing deals, offering practical insights drawn from the work they do every day. Networking and knowledge sharing are central, with opportunities to connect and learn from real-world experience. This edition features an interview with Antonio Cousin, Broker and Owner of Service 1st Real Estate, serving New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and communities across Southeastern Louisiana. Licensed since 2010, he works across residential, multifamily, and commercial real estate, and he invests personally in single family, multifamily, and commercial properties. He is the author of three books on real estate, personal finance, and wealth building, and his brokerage has earned multiple awards. PropertySpark has also recognized him among Louisiana’s Top 50 Real Estate Agents on Social Media. The conversation will explore how he got started, lessons learned over more than 15 years in the Louisiana market, and how he approaches today’s opportunities, followed by Q and A. A needs and wants segment encourages participants at any stage, from a first deal to a thousand deals, to share what they have or what they are seeking, such as off market opportunities, hard money, contractors, or partners. Additional time for networking is included, and there is an optional after gathering for drinks at Gattuso’s Neighborhood Restaurant. Speakers and organizers are not selling products or courses, with the emphasis on connecting the West Bank property investing community.

    Temple Support

Sangha House NOLA, 2004 Lapeyrouse St, New Orleans · verified Aug 9
    Free

Temple Support is a continuing volunteer opportunity that helps sustain a sacred environment with thoughtful care. Volunteers assist with everyday upkeep such as dusting and wiping surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, tending house plants, arranging flowers or offerings, and keeping altars and other sacred areas neat. Help is also needed to organize the Freedom Library, restock supplies, take out trash and recycling, and maintain outdoor spaces and entryways. Volunteers may welcome and guide visitors, support set up and clean up for ceremonies, run small supply errands, and provide light administrative assistance. No special skills are required, only a willing spirit and readiness to serve. Consistent attention keeps the temple a respectful and peaceful place for gathering, healing, and growth, easing the burden that might otherwise fall on a small few. Every contribution supports a space that serves the whole community, keeps the Freedom Library accessible, ensures visitors feel welcomed, and allows temple leadership to focus on programming, guidance, and community care. Modest, covered clothing is recommended out of respect for the space. All cleaning supplies and tools are provided, so volunteers only need to bring themselves and the intention to help.
