Prospect Hill Tower offers casual drop in chats through History Unlocked, part of History on the Line, a lineup of exhibitions and programs from the Somerville Museum. Test your strength with a stone lifting challenge hosted by the New England Stone Lifters, practice basic warrior skills, and explore daily life inside the encampments. Younger participants can craft messages in runes, try simple weaving, and meet costumed Vikings to learn about gear and legend. Food and treats round out the experience. Inside Kaffestugan, find warm waffles, sandwiches, Nordic breads, prepared foods, candies, and other Scandinavian goods. Outdoors, Gunner’s Icelandic Hot Dogs serves the classic topped with crispy onions, sweet brown mustard, remoulade, and more. Tickets are available with tiered pricing. Adults are $20 in advance and $25 on the day, and children 12 and under are $10 in advance and $15 on the day.

Capture portraits in Boston’s Beacon Hill with a local photographer guiding the session through this National Historic Landmark. Expect a short, focused shoot along cobblestone streets, brick alleyways, and picture worthy row houses in a neighborhood known for the most photographed street in America. The Mini Portrait Experience includes 15 minutes of photography and one favorite image to download. After the photos are taken, a Zoom video call is set up to choose your favorite, which will be edited and delivered as a digital file. Those who want more can purchase extra digital images, boxed prints, wall art, albums, cards, and other upgrades. Longer portrait experiences and options that include more time or additional locations are also available.
