    Iron & Wine

Boarding House Park, Lowell · verified Aug 5
    See details

Iron & Wine is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Beam. The newest full-length, Hen’s Teeth, is the eighth album and the sixth released with Sub Pop. Shaped over multiple sessions in the foothills of Los Angeles with studio owner and engineer Dave Way, it sits alongside the Grammy-nominated Light Verse as a kind of companion, sharing a complementary spirit while maintaining its own distinct character. Familiar collaborators David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane, and Paul Cartwright lend their talents throughout. Fresh voices appear as well, with the Americana trio I’m With Her adding harmonies to “Robin’s Egg” and “Wait Up,” and Arden Beam making her recording debut on “Roses,” “Singing Saw,” “Defiance, Ohio,” and “GraceNotes.” Beam describes the title as a nod to something that should not exist, a happy accident that nonetheless became real.

    Christone “Kingfish” Ingram

Boarding House Park, Lowell · verified Aug 6
    See details

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram brings his boundary-pushing blues to the Lowell Summer Music Series at Boarding House Park. Celebrated by Rolling Stone as a modern guitar hero and a leading force in today’s blues, he blends deep Delta roots with bold new ideas. His latest album, Hard Road, on his Red Zero Records label, was executive produced by Ingram and Ric Whitney, with production by Patrick “Guitar Boy” Hayes, Nick Goldston, and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge. The record broadens his signature sound with a vivid mix of classic blues, hard rock, funk, soulful pop, and smooth R&B, paired with ever more personal songwriting and expressive vocals. A native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Ingram first turned heads as a teenager and has since earned international acclaim. His debut, Kingfish, led Billboard’s Blues Albums chart for 91 weeks and brought his first GRAMMY nomination along with three Blues Music Awards, including Album of the Year. The follow-up, 662, captured the GRAMMY and the Blues Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Live In London later added another GRAMMY nomination, a second Blues Music Award for Album of the Year, and a third consecutive win for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

    Ripe

Boarding House Park, Lowell · verified Aug 2
    See details

Ripe shares a story of grit, friendship, and shared momentum. The band traces its beginnings to long hours in a tiny basement below a sandwich shop, shaping early songs in a concrete room scented with fresh bread, then hand selling their first tickets outside a friend’s coffee spot to fill bars that let them keep the door while the venue kept the bar. Collaboration and community sit at the heart of what they do, a friendship as close as family and a creative force that no single snapshot can fully capture. With new music on the way alongside recent releases, they are riding a surge of joyful energy from sessions in dream studios in a city they worked for years to fully embrace, guided by a producer whose records shaped their early tastes and supported by their closest musical peers. The songs serve as a love letter to layered nostalgia and empowering change, a reminder that dreams feel real when they are shared. What follows is a fearless reach for connection, a fresh start forged through blue-tinged trials, and an all-in leap toward something bigger together.
