The show explores youth and identity while addressing peer pressure, teenage angst, and personal transformation, and remains one of the most popular musicals worldwide. To keep performers, crew, and patrons comfortable, this production is presented at Temple Beth El in an air-conditioned theater instead of the Enfield Annex auditorium. Directed by Stevie Norman and Michael King, with music direction by Graham Christian and choreography by Chantel Martin. Recent highlights feature the single Why, co-written by Moriah Formica with David Draiman and co-produced with David and Grammy nominated producer Johnny K, and a new album is underway. Major Moment adds an intense, cinematic pop metal presence, blending heavy riffs, modern production and melodic vocals with a distinctive mix of male and female clean and extreme vocals shaped by personal experiences.
