The 24th Annual Pigtown Festival serves up a big, pork-themed celebration with a full slate of entertainment and activities. More than seven thousand people are expected to enjoy The Squeakness pig races, move to DJ sets in the Pigtown Lounge, and catch live performances on the main stage while sampling plenty of food and local libations. Shoppers can browse over seventy arts and crafts booths, and families will find Baltimore’s largest festival KidZone.

Southern Culture on the Skids brings its rollicking blend of American roots music to Rams Head On Stage with Poi Rogers on the bill. The long-running Chapel Hill trio of Rick Miller, Mary Huff, and Dave Hartman has spent decades touring the globe, graduating from raucous house parties to late night television and venues as unexpected as mountain bases and correctional facilities. They have shared bills with icons across genres, placed songs in film and television, appeared in advertising, and earned recognition from the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for their musical and cultural impact. Their latest full-length release, At Home with Southern Culture on the Skids, was created during the stay-at-home period, with 11 tracks recorded largely in Rick Miller’s living room and finished at his studio, The Kudzu Ranch. The lead radio single, Run Baby Run, surges with garage grit and a standout vocal from Mary Huff, while the album folds acoustic colors into the band’s signature sound. Expect a set that swings through rockabilly, surf, country, folk, R&B, and garage-streaked rock and roll, delivered with the high spirits and sharp musicianship that have defined them for years. This event is all ages.
