At Mayan Monkey Brewing Co. in old town Gaithersburg, The Hard-Core Troubadours perform with Andy Rutherford, Kevin Driscoll, Louie Newmyer, and Jimi Lethbridge. The set features a danceable mix of rock and roll, country swing, surf, cowpunk, Texas blues, alt-country, and rockabilly. There is no cover charge, and tips are appreciated. Expect easy parking, good food, a full bar, and space to dance.

A cherished Kentlands tradition, this year-round farmers market brings together local growers, makers, and musicians. Shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, microgreens, and mushrooms, along with plants and flowers. Pick up savory prepared dinners, homemade breads, and artisan sweet treats. Choose from spirits, fresh-ground coffee, and juices made on site. There are treats for furry friends and a variety of locally crafted goods from local artists and crafters. Live music by local musicians and songwriters is featured on select Saturdays.

This fourth annual car and truck show welcomes vehicles of every make, model, and year. It is family friendly, featuring plenty of awards and giveaways. Entry is donation based, and all proceeds benefit Frederick Health Hospice. There is no advance registration, since sign up happens on site. There is ample space for trucks and trailers. Students in grades 1 through 12 can create and plant their own decorated mini garden to take home. All plants and decorative materials are provided, and participants should bring garden gloves. Advance registration is required because the class is limited to 15 children, and each child must be accompanied by an adult. There is no fee for children. Adults may choose to make their own mini garden for $5 by noting this on the registration and paying at the class with cash or a check made out to the University of Maryland. Makerspace members are invited to volunteer at a Community Fix-It Day, working alongside Montgomery County DEP and Public Libraries to help repair everyday household items. Volunteers will serve as troubleshooters, fixers, and tinkerers, giving neighbors a way to extend the life of their favorite belongings, no professional skills required. The event is free and includes free parking, with an in-person setup at the library.

Hosted by the Frederick Gargoyles at Skate Frederick, this free First Shift session introduces Special Hockey to athletes with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities in a fun, supportive, and inclusive setting. Newcomers to the ice and those seeking a team experience can learn basic hockey skills, meet players and coaches, make friends, and explore what Special Hockey offers. The program welcomes all genders, begins at age 5, and has no upper age limit. Helmets, sticks, and skate rentals are provided, and participants should bring their own winter gloves. A parent or guardian must remain present, and on ice mentor opportunities are available.

The Onelife Dance Fitness Series, presented by Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, brings a free weekly summer workout to the Boardwalk with energetic, globally influenced dance fitness that keeps participants moving and having fun all season. Each class includes raffle giveaways for Onelife gear, guest passes, and goodies from Rio. After the workout, the lakefront setting offers easy options for a celebratory drink, a quick bite, or some shopping. Casey Farmers Market sets up in the parking lot behind Casey Community Center, offering a weekly market throughout the growing season and monthly dates in winter. Open to everyone, this weekly meditation class is led by Chris, Megan, and Tommy. There is no registration and no cost. Each session begins with about 10 to 15 minutes of relaxed conversation, followed by a 20 to 25 minute meditation that may be silent or guided.
