Organized by Joe and Hailey, this family-run JLC’s Low-Cost Community Book Sale gathers all inventory from local donors through the Give My Books service. Shoppers can browse a carefully organized selection of more than 40,000 books, from sought-after favorites to unusual vintage and antique finds that change with each sale, along with about 5,000 DVDs and CDs, hundreds of audiobooks, plus video games, puzzles, and board games. Admission is free. The first day functions as a Premium Access Day with children’s picture and story books priced at $2 and all other books at $4, including young adult, juvenile fiction, and graphic novels. The following three days are the general sale, also with free admission, when children’s picture and story books are $1 and all other books are $2. Non-book items are low-cost as well, including CDs at $2 for singles and $4 for sets, DVDs at $3 for individual films and $5 for seasons or box sets, audiobooks at $3, video games for systems such as Xbox, Wii, or GameCube at $5, puzzles at $3, and board games at $5. Devon Gilfillian brings the Time Will Tell tour, named for his third studio album shaped by life’s peaks and valleys. Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A, the album was tracked live to tape with varispeed and mostly single-take vocals. He wrote and produced it with drummer Jonathan Smalt, with Neal H Pogue as executive producer, threading soul through a blend of rock, funk, and country while speaking openly about mistakes, vulnerability, perseverance, and gratitude. Jon Muq opens the show. Born in Uganda and now based in Austin, he blends African and western traditions, crafting songs as small gifts that invite reflection and resilience and connect with listeners in personal ways. His perspective spans early years marked by scarcity and a life in America, shaping music that seeks common ground for people in many circumstances. His debut album was made with producer Dan Auerbach, and he has toured with Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, Amythyst Kiah, Corinne Bailey Rae, and others.
