Pickering Jr., known to many as Chuck or Pick, who created this fundraiser to support his eldest daughter Terri after her ALS diagnosis. Proceeds benefit Terri Saenz and support ALS research, with a portion directed to the non profit ALS Therapy Development Institute, EIN 04-3462719. The event was previously run as the MyfriendTerri golf tournament. The tournament features a four person scramble on the course followed by a dinner that welcomes both golfers and non golfers. Tropical or Hawaiian shirts are encouraged in Chuck’s honor. A raffle with donated prizes and baskets is planned, and prize contributions as well as major sponsorships are welcomed. Cranksgiving rolls out from D&D Northville with a choose-your-own-ride format that pairs fall color with a spirit of giving. Hosted by R3 and celebrating its 10th year, this community ride offers three options. Tackle roughly 35 miles to Plymouth Orchard that includes a ride-through passage in the orchard, opt for a 10 mile family ride down Hines Drive that wraps up with a visit to Parmenter’s Orchard, or take on an approximately 37 mile gravel route to Plymouth Orchard. Expect crisp air, changing leaves, and the chance to enjoy a donut along the way. Cranksgiving is a national effort that takes place in nearly 100 locations across the United States, and this edition marks the sixth annual D&D Cranksgiving. Registration is available, and participants are encouraged to share photos using #DDCranksgiving.
