Enjoy a relaxed evening of cards at Johnny Blacks Public House with a casual euchre gathering that welcomes both newcomers and seasoned players. Order dinner during play to earn an extra 10 points. Arrive whenever it suits you and depart at your convenience. Many participants like to come early for a quiet meal, while others drop in later. Registration helps organize seating and scoring. Create an account by texting “Events” to 248-975-7512 or by calling that number, then update your RSVP and invite friends. There is no entry fee. Seat assignments and score updates are shared by text, and logged in players can review scores online. The group typically plays six to eight games per gathering, and there is no weekly commitment. New to euchre? Learn with how-to-play videos and practice using the Trickster Cards app, which is also helpful when there is an uneven number of players. Games follow house rules. Partners change after each game, each player deals twice, and Screw the Dealer is in effect. Keep talk about the current hand off the table, but conversation otherwise is encouraged. Keep games brisk, be courteous, and have fun. Scoring and prizes are straightforward. Four points are awarded for euchres and for reneges on loners, and scores can exceed 10 points. Your weekly total is the sum of your best five games, and your monthly total is based on your best ten. High scorers each week receive a prize, and there is a grand prize for the monthly champion. Daily high scorers also earn a prize, with tie breakers going to the player holding the highest hand. Winners must be present.
