    Fusion: Floating Sound Healing Experience

CenterPeace Troy, 2605 Crooks Rd, Troy · verified Oct 2
    See details

Settle into a restorative sound immersion designed to ease the body, quiet the mind, and replenish from within. Fusion, CenterPeace’s signature floating sound experience, welcomes you into a carefully prepared setting where gentle light and subtle aromas help shift the pace to something slower and more grounded. From there, the invitation is simple… relax and let the body be fully supported. Choose how you rest, whether gently suspended in a silk hammock, reclined in a zero gravity chair, or nestled on a cushioned floor haven. As tension softens, a layered soundscape of crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and rich tones moves through the room like calm waves. The vibrations are felt as much as heard, the breath naturally deepens, and the nervous system finds a steadier rhythm with nothing to do but allow. Seating is purposefully limited to preserve an intimate atmosphere. Silk hammocks support up to 275 lbs, while zero gravity chairs and grounded floor havens have no stated weight restriction. Ticket options range from $40 to $50, with the floating silk hammock at $50, the grounded floor haven at $40, and the zero gravity chair at $40 with limited availability. There is no single right way to experience Fusion, only the option that feels most supportive to your body. The session is facilitated by Jenna Tasker, founder of CenterPeace Healing and Events, who crafts thoughtfully held spaces through sound, breath, and energetic awareness. Many gatherings also feature a collaborating sound practitioner, so each Fusion unfolds with its own distinct energy and expression. If you are unsure which setup is best for you, questions are welcome.

    Deerhoof

The Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Ave, Ferndale · verified Oct 2
    See details

The Magic Bag hosts Deerhoof on the Sun Like It Hot 2026 tour, with Gerber & The Babies and Credit Card sharing the stage. This is an all ages, standing room only show. For over thirty years, Deerhoof has been known for bold, boundary pushing ideas, having formed in San Francisco in 1994. The lineup features Satomi Matsuzaki on vocals and bass, Greg Saunier on drums, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. Their sets leap from quiet melodies to sudden rhythmic bursts, catchy turns and joyful chaos, a live approach that has earned widespread praise. With more than twenty studio releases, including the recent Noble and Godlike in Ruin, they continue to evolve rather than repeat themselves. Gerber & The Babies bring a playful strain of Midwest egg punk that pulls influence from Black Flag to The Residents. Their songs take on topics like predatory behavior, mental health, and a deep fondness for dogs, driven by piercing synth arpeggios and heavy, fuzz soaked guitar. Credit Card, a Detroit outfit that started in 2025 with members tied to other notable local bands, fuses the city’s punk and techno lineage. Expect strobe lit intensity, mosh friendly energy, and sub powered beats that lean into hard EBM. Their first 7 inch, titled (CC) as a nod to the Germs classic, sold out at its Detroit release show, and they are preparing a 2026 debut full length they sometimes call a mixtape. Strong responses at Smalls, Paris Bar, and underground warehouse parties have built momentum for what comes next.

Registration helps organize seating and scoring. Create an account by texting “Events” to 248-975-7512 or by calling that number, then update your RSVP and invite friends. There is no entry fee. Seat assignments and score updates are shared by text, and logged in players can review scores online. The group typically plays six to eight games per gathering, and there is no weekly commitment. New to euchre? Learn with how-to-play videos and practice using the Trickster Cards app, which is also helpful when there is an uneven number of players. Games follow house rules. Partners change after each game, each player deals twice, and Screw the Dealer is in effect. Keep talk about the current hand off the table, but conversation otherwise is encouraged. Keep games brisk, be courteous, and have fun. Scoring and prizes are straightforward. Four points are awarded for euchres and for reneges on loners, and scores can exceed 10 points. Your weekly total is the sum of your best five games, and your monthly total is based on your best ten. High scorers each week receive a prize, and there is a grand prize for the monthly champion. Daily high scorers also earn a prize, with tie breakers going to the player holding the highest hand. Winners must be present.

Harper and Midwest Kind Sound Journey

    2605 Crooks Rd, Troy
    See details

Immerse in a guided experience of sound, color and breath led by award winning Australian musicians and sound healers Peter D. Harper and Bobbi Llewellyn-Harper. This workshop centers on clarifying heartfelt intention and transforming ideas seeded in the subconscious into tangible outcomes through creative imagination and positive mantras. Participants explore the seven chakras, also described as seven planetary energy centers, through didgeridoo sound and color attunement, vocal toning and conscious connected breathing. Attendees are introduced to the Australian Indigenous didgeridoo, known as the Yidaki or Mako, and its long standing role in vibrational healing. The facilitators share how its drone and overtones can support the release of pain, grief, stress and emotional blockages, with focused attention on clearing heavy or muted frequencies in specific areas. A sound bath follows, featuring didgeridoo with interwoven male and female vocal harmonies and power vowels that deepen meditation. According to the presenters, these frequencies encourage brainwave entrainment and a restorative state, and they highlight singing traditions of First Nations peoples of Australia for orienting to the land and manifesting needs. The soundscape may also include message sticks from Australia, the Navajo, also known as the Dine, traditional drum, Native American love flute, drone flute, crystal singing bowls, harmonica, tongue drum, rain disk and sustained keyboard tones. No yoga background is required and beginners are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and consider bringing a mat, blanket, favorite comfort items and a drink. The studio provides mats, bolsters and blankets for added ease. Tickets are 45 dollars. Peter has received permission from First Nations clan elders to perform on the didgeridoo and has received a blessing for his instruments. Bobbi holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Therapy and has more than two decades of study with a Western Mystery School, including Alchemy, Hermetic Qabalah, Tarot, the Tree of Life, Sound and Color, Gematria and Esoteric Astrology. Together they have shared their work across the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom and China with diverse communities, including all ages, special needs groups, veterans experiencing post traumatic stress, at risk youth and individuals in hospice or facing cancer or multiple sclerosis.
