    Fusion: Floating Sound Healing Experience

CenterPeace Troy, 2605 Crooks Rd, Troy · verified Oct 2
    See details

Settle into a restorative sound immersion designed to ease the body, quiet the mind, and replenish from within. Fusion, CenterPeace’s signature floating sound experience, welcomes you into a carefully prepared setting where gentle light and subtle aromas help shift the pace to something slower and more grounded. From there, the invitation is simple… relax and let the body be fully supported. Choose how you rest, whether gently suspended in a silk hammock, reclined in a zero gravity chair, or nestled on a cushioned floor haven. As tension softens, a layered soundscape of crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and rich tones moves through the room like calm waves. The vibrations are felt as much as heard, the breath naturally deepens, and the nervous system finds a steadier rhythm with nothing to do but allow. Seating is purposefully limited to preserve an intimate atmosphere. Silk hammocks support up to 275 lbs, while zero gravity chairs and grounded floor havens have no stated weight restriction. Ticket options range from $40 to $50, with the floating silk hammock at $50, the grounded floor haven at $40, and the zero gravity chair at $40 with limited availability. There is no single right way to experience Fusion, only the option that feels most supportive to your body. The session is facilitated by Jenna Tasker, founder of CenterPeace Healing and Events, who crafts thoughtfully held spaces through sound, breath, and energetic awareness. Many gatherings also feature a collaborating sound practitioner, so each Fusion unfolds with its own distinct energy and expression. If you are unsure which setup is best for you, questions are welcome.

Guess What? I Love You Album & Book Release Tour: Detroit

    Affirmations, 290 W 9 Mile Rd, Ferndale · verified Oct 4
    See details

Affirmations in Ferndale hosts a stop on Mike Maimone’s Guess What? I Love You album and book release tour, celebrating his fifteenth album and first memoir. The two works honor the love he shared with his late husband, renowned publicist Howard Bragman, whose trailblazing career helped many in the LGBTQ+ community live authentically. The evening blends piano-driven songs with heartfelt storytelling that moves through humor, loss, spirituality, and renewal, encouraging those processing grief to stay open to connection and to notice the small signs that suggest they are on the right path. Designed as companions, the album and memoir function together as one project that explores enduring love and the possibility of new connections. Early praise highlights the depth, beauty, and emotional resonance of the writing and music. Since 2005, Maimone has written more than two hundred songs featured on television, in films, on the radio, and on major streaming editorial playlists. He has averaged about one hundred performances a year as a solo artist, with his trio Mutts, and as a session keyboardist. Highlights include appearances at Lollapalooza and Riot Fest, headlining the Metro, Bowery Ballroom, and the Troubadour, performing on keys with Stevie Wonder, and tours with OK Go, Plain White T’s, and Blues Traveler. Deerhoof

The Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Ave, Ferndale · verified Oct 2
    See details

The Magic Bag hosts Deerhoof on the Sun Like It Hot 2026 tour, with Gerber & The Babies and Credit Card sharing the stage. This is an all ages, standing room only show. For over thirty years, Deerhoof has been known for bold, boundary pushing ideas, having formed in San Francisco in 1994. The lineup features Satomi Matsuzaki on vocals and bass, Greg Saunier on drums, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. Their sets leap from quiet melodies to sudden rhythmic bursts, catchy turns and joyful chaos, a live approach that has earned widespread praise. With more than twenty studio releases, including the recent Noble and Godlike in Ruin, they continue to evolve rather than repeat themselves. Gerber & The Babies bring a playful strain of Midwest egg punk that pulls influence from Black Flag to The Residents. Their songs take on topics like predatory behavior, mental health, and a deep fondness for dogs, driven by piercing synth arpeggios and heavy, fuzz soaked guitar. Credit Card, a Detroit outfit that started in 2025 with members tied to other notable local bands, fuses the city’s punk and techno lineage. Expect strobe lit intensity, mosh friendly energy, and sub powered beats that lean into hard EBM. Their first 7 inch, titled (CC) as a nod to the Germs classic, sold out at its Detroit release show, and they are preparing a 2026 debut full length they sometimes call a mixtape. Strong responses at Smalls, Paris Bar, and underground warehouse parties have built momentum for what comes next.

Jerry Wayne Longmire brings a special night of standup to Royal Oak with a two item minimum per person, and no Groupon, passes, or discounts accepted. A Houston-based comedian, viral video creator, and internet personality, he has performed for troops overseas and on stages from intimate clubs to theaters while building a catalog of original, professional social content. His playful storytelling and distinctive East Texas twang shaped by a junkyard upbringing have connected with more than 1.5 million followers. Many fans know him from the Truck Astrology roast series and the garage-set antics of Shoptalk, with videos on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram reaching nearly 300 million impressions across platforms. Beyond the mic, he serves as a recurring judge for the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, collaborating with designers and executives to help choose the custom build that becomes a die cast release the following year. His podcast, The Reckon Yard, explores his life, relationships, and Southern piney woods roots. It is in its fourth season, and Season 1 has a two book deal with full audio, TV, and film sub rights. Tickets are priced at $30 for Preferred and $25 for General Admission.
