No experience is required and beginners are welcome. The class is priced at $72 per person and runs for about two hours. Cookies and icing contain eggs, dairy, and wheat. Ingredients include plain flour, sugar, butter, eggs, meringue powder, corn syrup, vanilla extract, butter or vanilla emulsion, salt, baking powder, cornstarch, and food coloring. Items are prepared in a cottage food operation that is not subject to Mississippi’s food safety regulations.

Trace State Park in Belden presents the second session of its Tree I.D. Series with a hands-on look at leaves. Participants learn the terminology used to describe leaf features, discover which traits help distinguish tree species, and practice using identification keys. The session includes time outdoors to find leaves and apply accurate descriptions, building on the foundation from Week 1 to grow confidence identifying trees nearby. The Slaughterhouse Bench Press Open is an unsanctioned raw meet at The Slaughterhouse Gym, welcoming men and women who want straightforward competition without federation memberships. The entry fee is 100 dollars. Medals are awarded in every weight class, the biggest bench of the day earns the Slaughterhouse Championship Belt, and the best overall Wilks score takes a cash prize. Weight classes include lightweight at 98 to 140 pounds, welterweight at 140 to 175, middleweight at 175 to 205, light heavyweight at 205 to 265, and heavyweight at 265 and up. Lifts are raw touch and go, with elbow sleeves and wrist wraps allowed. The platform is set with a 45 pound Texas Power Bar, iron plates, and an HS power rack. Keep glutes on the bench, keep feet on the floor, and follow the Bench, Press, and Rack commands. Two judges score each attempt, and in the event of a tie a final call will be made by the organizer. Registration is available in person at the gym or via PayPal, and a waiver is required. Weigh ins will be held before lifting begins.
