    An annual chip timed 5k and 1 mile road event welcomes walkers, runners and racers of all ages to the streets of West Nags Head. The course and staging area are set behind the Outer Banks Mall near milepost 14 on Highway 158, with the start and finish at the intersection of West Seachase and South Links Drive behind the Outback Steakhouse. Parking is available at the mall, and portable restrooms will be on site. Race morning features on-site check in, packet pickup and late walk up registration at the start area, as there is no day-before pickup. Each entry includes an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing and post race snacks and refreshments. Awards for the 5k honor the top three overall men and women, first place masters for ages 40 and up and first place youth for ages 14 and under. The 1 mile recognizes the first overall male and female. Entry fees are $45 for adults, $40 for youth 17 and under and $40 with a military discount. Results will be emailed to participants and posted on The OBX Running Company website, and free photos and videos will be shared through their Facebook page.
