Build your bachata basics in a friendly 60 minute class focused on foundations and connection. Expect a mix of solo practice and partner work that welcomes absolute beginners and anyone new to formal training. No partner or prior experience is required, and your first class is free. Across a four week rotation, you will learn to hear the structure of bachata music and explore its cultural background, gain control over several fundamental step variations and grooves, develop solid technique for leading and following turns, strengthen partner connection through frame exercises, and bring it all together in simple combinations with smooth flow. All key skills are introduced over four consecutive weeks, but true ease comes with repetition, so you are encouraged to repeat the cycle until you feel ready for the next level. You can start on any week.

Build on your bachata foundation in a 90 minute advanced beginner class that combines solo practice with partner work. You will apply beginner skills in more complex ways and refine timing and feel by aligning movement with bachata’s instruments and accents. The session includes an introduction to bachata sensual with body isolations and close hold techniques. There is also focused practice on syncopations to add flair and higher level technique to your dancing. Ideal for dancers who are comfortable with beginner material and ready for more depth.

A free community celebration of queer joy fills High Desert Cafe & Bar at The Mystic Santa Fe with a lively monthly dance party. In collaboration with the Human Rights Alliance and LezGo NM, Somewhere in the Rainbow creates a welcoming space to move, connect, and celebrate, inspired by the Queer Get Together of Santa Fe. There is no cover charge and no ticket is required. Enjoy the featured Rainbow Eclipse cocktail, crafted with vodka, grapefruit, cranberry mint–infused simple syrup, a hint of white glitter, and a fresh mint sprig. Nonalcoholic options are available, and the cafe offers a full dinner menu. Parking is provided in two lots at The Mystic, with additional street parking along Clark Rd between Jackalope and Big 5 Sporting Goods. Please do not park in the Jackalope lot next door. High Desert is The Mystic’s bar and cafe, serving breakfast and afternoon fare with a dessert bar later in the evening, plus light bites, salads, pizzas, paninis, and charcuterie boards alongside a full coffee and cocktail bar.

Explore Franz Marc’s vibrant approach as you create your own take on his iconic Blue Horse. This hands-on painting night focuses on loosening up, using bold color theory, and discovering how simplified shapes and expressive hues can convey symbolism and spirit. Santa Fe artists Laura Tarnoff and Mickey Bond guide a step-by-step process that includes building dramatic contrast, blending rich primary colors, layering paint, exaggerating muscular curves, and emphasizing light against deep shadow to highlight the harmony between nature and the human imagination. No prior experience is required. All materials are provided, and wine with light snacks is included. You are welcome to bring a favorite beverage or treat. The session takes place at Artful Soul: Creative Experiences in Santa Fe, located on the ground floor at the back of the Santa Fe Village Mall. For evening classes, parking is available in the mall lot with a provided dashboard sign, or you may choose nearby street parking or the Water Street Parking lot. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Tickets cannot be refunded or transferred.

This second installment of the tribute to Antonio Carlos Jabim features the new ensemble Brasil '26 with Eliana Joy on vocals, Alex Murzyn on sax, Russ Scanlon on guitar, Bert Dalton on piano, Joe Chellman on drums, Gordy Johnson on bass, and Nicolas Lebron on percussion. The Dallas native is known for vivid, character centered narratives delivered with a distinctive tenor that blends Texas roots with a contemporary emotional edge. Since his 2019 debut, he has appeared on national television, performed at the Grand Ole Opry multiple times, and logged more than two thousand shows across the United States and Europe. His sixth album, Ain’t Dead Yet, marks a deeply personal turn, created across the span of cancer treatment, including sessions recorded right before lung surgery that could have changed his voice. Built around pedal steel, fiddle, and his trademark guitar work, these songs explore mortality, gratitude, memory, and transformation, meeting uncertainty with grit, clarity, and hard earned joy. Throughout his catalog he remains dedicated to truth telling, even when it is difficult, and this release carries that approach into a story of change and a second chance. The event is all standing. Advance tickets are $25 plus fees, with day of show pricing at $30 plus fees, and there will be a member presale followed by a general on sale. Parking is available at the venue. Alcohol is served, and outside food or drink is not permitted.
