    At Tin Can Chandelier, this hands-on workshop teaches how to spin your own yarn using a drop spindle. Guided by Ginger, who has more than 40 years of experience, participants learn the basics of drafting and adding twist, then try a few spinning wheels after getting comfortable with the fundamentals. Everyone takes home a drop spindle and raw wool for continued practice. The session is a springboard to topics like using a spinning wheel, designing yarn for particular projects, and working with soft specialty fibers such as silk, angora, and alpaca. It can also serve as a meaningful homeschool project. Class sizes are intentionally small for plenty of one-on-one instruction. Open to ages 10 and up. Price is $45. Enrollment is limited to a maximum of 4 participants and will run with as few as 1.

    The Main Street Car & Truck Show rolls in as part of the 2nd Annual End of Summer Main Street Bash, presented by Big 3 Racing and organized by Kandi Blaze & Friends. All makes and models are welcome, from classics and customs to hot rods, street machines, trucks and daily drivers. Registration takes place on show day only, there is no preset fee, and contributions of any amount are accepted, with 100% of car and truck registration donations going to this year’s selected nonprofit. Limited edition dash plaques will be available for the first 200 registered vehicles. Awards highlight a wide range of builds, including Coolest Ride on Main St, Most Radical or Modified, Vintage Beauty, Ladies Choice selected by the Pin Up Gala, Rust Belt Beauty and the Big 3 Racing Choice. Big 3 Racing will showcase a collection of its well known street and strip machines seen at national gatherings like Roadkill Nights and featured by outlets such as Dragzine, Sick Week and Sick Magazine. Guests can talk with team members and get a close look at the cars on display only, with no burnouts or exhibition runs downtown. Throughout the day, the Bash adds live music and entertainment, a 50/50, non food vendors, downtown dining and shopping, family activities, the Ms. Main Street Bash Vintage Pin Up Pageant and Gala hosted by Kandi Blaze and the Beards on Main competition with the Appalachian Bearded Mafia. Only registered show vehicles may park inside the designated Main Street display area, while spectators can use free public lots around downtown. Updated maps and performance schedules will be shared as details are finalized. The motorcycle show connected with the Bash is managed separately with its own registration, parking and awards and is not part of this car and truck show. Proceeds raised through the End of Summer Main Street Bash benefit the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation in honor of eight-year-old “Officer” Allysson Nead, focusing the celebration of cars, trucks, music and local businesses on a meaningful cause.
