A laid back afternoon of live music in the park, presented as part of a free, open air series at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Large Pavilion. Aimed especially at adults 55 and older, it offers a relaxed setting to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy a mix of musical styles. No registration is required. This installment spotlights David Mullikin, a Xenia native who loves to sing and write some of his own songs. His performance spans multiple eras, and his playful sense of humor, complete with plenty of jokes, keeps the mood light. He has even crossed paths with artists such as Conway Twitty. Picnic tables are available, and for added comfort attendees may bring a lawn chair or blanket to settle in for a memorable experience.

This relaxed LEGO building night offers families in the special needs community time to create together in a community room setting. Multiple tables with bulk bricks give kids room to build and talk, supporting social interaction while they craft their own designs. Siblings are welcome and can meet others with similar family experiences. The building is wheelchair accessible. The lights cannot be dimmed or covered. If a creation is going home, the cost is $1 per ounce, otherwise the bricks return to the bins to be sanitized. This event takes place at the Kettering location only. A separate Family Bingo Build Night is also available for all ages.

The GCP&T Trail Sentinels lead a moonlight ride on the region’s bike trails, departing from Xenia Station. This event is free and does not require registration. The average pace is 10 to 13 miles per hour. Riders must be 18 or older, wear a helmet, have lights on their bikes, and carry basic repair items. The Trail Sentinels are a dedicated volunteer group that patrols the trails and coordinates cycling events. If weather or other factors arise, last minute cancellations will be shared on the Greene County Parks and Trails Facebook page. And, for a bit of fun, these rides are all about the ice cream.

Guided by Yoga with Aleasha, this no-cost, all-levels flow welcomes both newcomers and seasoned practitioners. Beginners receive clear options and adjustments for comfort and confidence as they learn the poses, while experienced participants get targeted guidance to deepen and refine their practice. Try mountain biking for free at the MetroParks Mountain Biking Area (MoMBA). Borrow a bike to ride a loop or two on the trails, with loans handled in the order people arrive. Helmets are mandatory, and one is provided with each bike. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Plans may change depending on the weather.

Yellow Cab Tavern hosts a weekly karaoke night with MC Zane Gerlach. Entry is free, and a library of more than 60,000 songs offers plenty of favorites to choose from. If a track is not available, requests are welcomed and every effort is made to add it. Friends and families can team up or go solo at the mic and sing the songs they love.
