Hosted by the Trans Am Club of America, Dayton chapter, the Trans Am Nationals celebrates Pontiac Firebirds from 1967 through 2002. Eligible models span the full lineup, including Sprint, H.O., Esprit, Formula, Trans Am, S/E, GTA, Comp T/A, Fire Am and Firehawk. Across the weekend, look for show and shine displays, concours judging, a tech inspection line, a swap meet and vendor area, seminars, a Tipp City cruise-in, karaoke and Mini-Nats activities. Awards are presented in every class along with Best of Show and other special honors, with categories that range from driver and work in progress builds to concours entries. A 50/50 drawing plus live and silent auctions are planned, with proceeds benefiting A Special Wish Foundation, Inc. Dash plaques are set aside for the first 450 registered vehicles, and spectators can attend at no charge. Vehicle owners are asked to park within their assigned classes throughout the event. Pre-entry options are available at $67 or $69 and include a T-shirt and hat pin depending on shirt size, while on-site registration is offered for $67 without a shirt. Vendor and swap spaces are available for $75 each and are approximately 17 feet by 27 feet. An unofficial Test and Tune at Kil-Kare Speedway is also listed in the lead-up. The previous edition welcomed 548 participants.

A welcoming music jam centered on string instruments invites people to participate or simply listen. Add your voice to the music, relax and enjoy the sound, or play a string instrument you bring alongside others.

This celebration honors newly matched service dog teams and the partnerships they have built. Families will share personal stories, and guests can learn more about the mission of 4 Paws. There is no cost to attend, and registration is helpful for planning but not required. A behind-the-scenes tour will be offered after the program.

Xenia Food Truck Rallies brings a variety of delicious food trucks and vendors to Xenia Station. Bring family, friends, a picnic blanket, or a chair and relax while you explore the offerings. This week features Cates Food Truck, McNastys, and Mama G’s Cool Treatz. The lineup is subject to change.

Enjoy a relaxing paddle beneath the fountains at RiverScape MetroPark as Taiters Kayak sets up along the water between the bike trail and the river. Walk-up rentals are first come, first served, and small groups may arrange a reserved spot. Rental choices include half-hour, one-hour, or four-hour sessions priced at $15, $25, and $60. On arrival, scan the QR code to choose a rental length, complete payment, and sign a waiver; cash and tap-to-pay are also accepted. Participants must be at least 10 years old, minors need an accompanying adult and a signed waiver, and the weight limit is 300 pounds. Restrooms are available in the park near the Canteen. Assistance is provided for getting in and out of the water, and beginners receive basic instruction before launching. The fleet includes 18 single sit-in kayaks and 2 double sit-on kayaks. This recurring Bike Night series at Buckeye Harley-Davidson brings riders and friends together with live local bands, vendor pop-ups, complimentary food and drinks, and raffles. Roll in on your bike, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and start the weekend in a relaxed atmosphere. The Dayton Buffalo Soldiers are volunteering throughout the season. Band and vendor applications are open on the event page, and the full music lineup will be announced.

An evening on the lawn brings soulful energy and New Orleans inspired grooves with J & The Causeways. Blending soul, rock, and R&B with the vibrant spirit of New Orleans, the group led by singer and keyboardist Jordan Anderson delivers commanding vocals, rich instrumentation, and heartfelt performances that encourage dancing, reflection, and shared celebration. Their debut album, Motions, explores compassion, transcendence, and togetherness, channeling the city’s unmistakable rhythm into soaring vocals and a lively stage presence. The night also features opener Yuppies as part of the Projects Unlimited & Wyse Family Foundation Gem Series. Pack a lawn chair or blanket, enjoy offerings from local food trucks, and take in a summer evening of music and community in downtown Dayton. Everyone is welcome on the lawn. TeamTuneTrivia brings a lively, family-friendly music quiz to Morts East - A Neighborhood Tavern. Expect throwback favorites alongside current hits as players try to recognize songs. Teams compete for prizes and bragging rights. Early arrival is recommended to secure a table.

Under the pavilion, the RiverScape Summer Music Series spotlights an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute featuring Let’s Groove Tonight. Expect an energetic salute to the group’s funk, soul, and R&B legacy, with tight harmonies, a driving rhythm section, and vivid horn lines. The performance leans into favorites like September, Boogie Wonderland, Shining Star, and Let’s Groove, with sound, costumes, and choreography closely modeled on the originals. This is a free outdoor concert. Guests may bring lawn chairs and enjoy sunset views along the Great Miami River. The RiverScape Café will be open with food and drinks, plus beer, wine, and cocktails for those 21 and older. SugRRocK Full Band performs on the open-air stage at Trail Town Brewing with an evening of live music spanning rock classics, blues, and songwriter favorites, plus original material. Trail Town Brewing offers house craft beer and a margarita from the tap, along with nonalcoholic drinks. Food options include nachos, burgers, and the fried brussels the venue is known for, with more items available.

Dave Chappelle presents a night of conversation and comedy at Wirrig Pavilion. Capacity is very limited to support the safety of everyone in attendance. Alcohol will neither be sold nor permitted on the premises. Because the pavilion is in a rural community with families, pets, and other animals, attendees are asked to drive carefully and follow all posted speed limits when traveling to and from the venue. This is a phone-free experience, and by confirming attendance guests agree to place their phones in a locking pouch that remains with them throughout the event. Full Moon Hikes now feature fun themes and are self-guided, and this edition offers a sturgeon-themed route beneath the Sturgeon moon. Bring a standard flashlight to help navigate. Now in its second year, NAMIWalks Clark, Greene and Madison Counties brings neighbors together to lift up awareness, build connection, and offer hope for people impacted by mental health conditions. It also shines a light on a difficult reality... the typical gap between first symptoms and receiving care can stretch to about 11 years, and collective action can help shorten that wait. Participation can take many forms, from walking and stopping by to show support to spreading the word or donating, and every gesture reinforces that no one should face mental health challenges alone. Guided by the #MentalHealthforAll movement, this gathering focuses on creating a community where reaching out for support is understood, encouraged, and valued.

The Grazing Ground Market offers a neighborhood hub for garden-fresh produce, time with friendly goats, and distinctive homemade treats. Naturally grown fruits and vegetables and farm-fresh eggs come straight from a 6.5-acre urban farm, grown without chemicals and full of care. Small-batch jellies and jams made with foraged blossoms and homegrown ingredients rotate through the season, with uncommon flavors such as dandelion, wild violet, hibiscus, rose, tomato, and onion. Cozy additions include fruit butters and seasonal spreads like salted caramel pear, along with fresh gluten-free baked goods that tend to sell out fast. Beyond the pantry, the market features farm-inspired gifts and handmade items, including natural luffa soaps, firestarters, garden-themed pieces, and other seasonal creations that bring a bit of farm charm home. During market hours, visitors can visit and feed the resident goats, take photos, and enjoy a little farm time while shopping. Stroll the trails at Indian Mound Reserve to learn which berries, mushrooms, and plants are safe to eat and how to prepare them. Signs along the route highlight edible species. A naturalist will be available to answer questions, and handouts will be available while supplies last. No registration is required, and walk-ins are welcome. At Needle, Ink and Thread, a modern sewing studio, kids and teens can dive into machine sewing in a beginner friendly class with no prerequisites. Enrollment is limited to six students to keep instruction personal and focused. Participants learn how to set up, thread, and operate a sewing machine, including cleaning and maintenance, choosing needles, winding and inserting a bobbin, using common feet and accessories, understanding seam allowances, basic sewing terms, and simple troubleshooting. The session also covers what to include in a starter sewing kit. Please bring a notebook, your machine if you have one along with its manual, thread and an empty bobbin, scissors, and a basic kit with pins and extra needles. Scrap fabric for practice, a 101 handout, and practice sheets are provided, and a machine can be borrowed when requested during registration. Remember to print any provided downloads and bring them to class. Private lessons are available if one on one instruction is preferred.

You will also learn basic sewing terms and what to include in a simple starter kit. The class is open to ages 13 and up, and enrollment is limited to five participants for focused guidance. Bring a notebook, thread, an empty bobbin if you will use your own machine, scissors, manuals for your model, and basic notions such as pins and extra needles. A personal machine is welcome, and the Brother CS6000i is suggested for those considering a purchase. Scissors like the KAI N5230 9 inch bent handle are recommended. An award winning foamsmith, sewist, and propmaker, they have a love for hidden details and super clean seams, and are known as an easy connector with an effervescent, enthusiastic presence.

Season 4 of First Fil-Am Church Got Talent brings an uplifting showcase of performances paired with a shared meal, fellowship, and community, all centered on using creative gifts for God’s glory and supporting a worthy cause. Everyone is welcome. Each ticket includes a meal, with prices of $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Sam King & The Suspects open the evening as part of the Projects Unlimited & Wyse Family Foundation Gem Series. This event is part of Tim Tye’s Midnight Sky Country/Americana Series. Guests can settle in on the lawn with chairs or blankets, enjoy local food trucks, and take in a summer night of music and community in downtown Dayton. All are welcome on the lawn.

The GCP&T Trail Sentinels lead a moonlight ride on the region’s bike trails, departing from Xenia Station. This event is free and does not require registration. The average pace is 10 to 13 miles per hour. Riders must be 18 or older, wear a helmet, have lights on their bikes, and carry basic repair items. The Trail Sentinels are a dedicated volunteer group that patrols the trails and coordinates cycling events. If weather or other factors arise, last minute cancellations will be shared on the Greene County Parks and Trails Facebook page. And, for a bit of fun, these rides are all about the ice cream.

At Young’s Jersey Dairy, Cowvin, the youngest of the Cow Family, has created a family maze carved into more than three and a half acres of corn with over a mile of pathways. Navigate winding passages, surprising turns, and the occasional dead end, then finish at a playland filled with activities for kids. Admission is $10 for ages 5 and up, and children 4 and under are free. Guests 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The price includes a wagon ride to and from the maze. Dayton Gay Men’s Chorus welcomes new singing members through vocal auditions at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Singers of all experience levels are encouraged, including those who simply enjoy singing at home, as long as they can match pitch. The audition includes a brief meeting with artistic director Kathy Clark and a series of vocal exercises to assess voice quality, range, and overall aptitude. The upcoming season features the holiday program "Peace is the Word" and the Pride concert "I Want My DGMC: A Tribute to the Music Video Generation." Parking is available in the lot across from the church without paying the posted QR code, and interested singers are asked to register for an audition on the chorus website.

Gem City Pinball League meets on Mondays at Canal Street Arcade and Deli for weekly group play that leads into a two-night finals. The cost to join is $20 once per session, plus the usual coin drop each week. Players are placed in groups of three or four, play four random games, and earn points based on how they finish. The season features eight weeks of regular play, then players compete in either A finals or B finals based on overall standings, with everyone qualifying for one of the two. Finals formats and rules may adjust based on league needs and the number of participants. Attendance is important for smooth weekly play. There are no makeup weeks, and each player gets one drop so the lowest weekly score does not count. Missing three weeks in a season removes a player from that season’s rankings and finals eligibility, though players may continue to participate for the remainder of the season and can return in a future season if spots are available. In special circumstances, exceptions may be considered at the discretion of league operators when notified as soon as possible with valid reasons. Players are asked to check in each Monday to confirm their attendance status. A respectful environment is required. Disrespectful behavior is not tolerated and can result in removal. Final rulings by league directors are not open to debate, and failing to follow the rules can lead to disqualification or removal. Because pinball machines can experience mechanical issues that sometimes require a restart or shutdown, rulings around these situations are part of play. The focus is a fair, friendly atmosphere where everyone treats one another with kindness.

Ohio’s Hospice Pathways of Hope Grief Counseling Center offers a twice-monthly support group for adults who have lost a loved one within the past five years. Participants gather to share experiences and connect with others who are grieving. Discussions cover a range of topics that shift with the season and the needs of the group. H7 MVP, short for Military Veteran Professionals, is a self-help gathering designed for service members and their families. Held at Troll Pub Dayton, it focuses on peer support and finding meaningful ways to connect with the Dayton community. Attendees can share experiences, build understanding, and collaborate on community engagement.

Try mountain biking for free at the MetroParks Mountain Biking Area (MoMBA). Borrow a bike to ride a loop or two on the trails, with loans handled in the order people arrive. Helmets are mandatory, and one is provided with each bike. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Plans may change depending on the weather.

Presented by Immortal Tree Qigong, this hour-long Tai Chi and Qigong session begins with mindful breathing, a gentle warmup, and easy movements to wake up the body. Participants are then guided through flowing sequences drawn from the Tai Chi 24 form, interspersed with brief standing meditations. The practice concludes with a longer guided meditation that can be done standing or seated, followed by a short window to ask questions or share insights. No prior experience is needed, and no special equipment is required beyond your own body and your breath.

In the years after the Civil War, Dayton shifted from a center of manufacturing to a hub of innovation, and by the turn of the century it led the nation in patents per person. This guided walk through Woodland Cemetery explores that history by visiting the gravesites of inventors who are buried there. The group meets at Eichelberger Plaza by the main gates of the cemetery. Parking is available both inside and outside the gates. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle if needed. Tours run in all weather except when thunder or lightning is present. Reservations are required, and a $5 donation is suggested. Contributions support the Woodland Arboretum Foundation and its restoration, preservation, horticultural and educational work that helps keep Woodland a cultural resource for Dayton and Ohio.

Settle into RiverScape MetroPark for an evening with Elle 'n' Mrrell, a Dayton indie singer songwriter duo that blends R&B, hip hop, jazz, and funk into a smooth, soulful sound. Find a comfortable spot by the RiverScape Café to enjoy food and drinks while the music creates a relaxed vibe. Take in the sunset over the river and try your hand at oversized lawn games. The RiverScape Café will have flatbreads, sides, desserts, and other refreshments available for purchase. Guests 21 and over can also purchase cocktails, wine, and beer as part of the Downtown Dayton DORA.

Yellow Cab Tavern hosts a weekly karaoke night with MC Zane Gerlach. Entry is free, and a library of more than 60,000 songs offers plenty of favorites to choose from. If a track is not available, requests are welcomed and every effort is made to add it. Friends and families can team up or go solo at the mic and sing the songs they love.

Peach's Grill hosts a weekly open mic led by Kyleen Downes, offering a stage for musicians of any genre and experience level to share their songs. Happy Hour specials are available beforehand. Fairborn's Farmers Market brings a lively mix of vendors to Main St. Commons, offering fresh produce, flowers, herbs, baked goods, meat and poultry, honey, preserves, agriculture-based crafts, and other homemade goods. The market happens each week, and on the final Wednesday of the month it transforms into a Night Market with a food truck.
