Now in its second year, NAMIWalks Clark, Greene and Madison Counties brings neighbors together to lift up awareness, build connection, and offer hope for people impacted by mental health conditions. It also shines a light on a difficult reality... the typical gap between first symptoms and receiving care can stretch to about 11 years, and collective action can help shorten that wait. Participation can take many forms, from walking and stopping by to show support to spreading the word or donating, and every gesture reinforces that no one should face mental health challenges alone. Guided by the #MentalHealthforAll movement, this gathering focuses on creating a community where reaching out for support is understood, encouraged, and valued.

The Grazing Ground Market offers a neighborhood hub for garden-fresh produce, time with friendly goats, and distinctive homemade treats. Naturally grown fruits and vegetables and farm-fresh eggs come straight from a 6.5-acre urban farm, grown without chemicals and full of care. Small-batch jellies and jams made with foraged blossoms and homegrown ingredients rotate through the season, with uncommon flavors such as dandelion, wild violet, hibiscus, rose, tomato, and onion. Cozy additions include fruit butters and seasonal spreads like salted caramel pear, along with fresh gluten-free baked goods that tend to sell out fast. Beyond the pantry, the market features farm-inspired gifts and handmade items, including natural luffa soaps, firestarters, garden-themed pieces, and other seasonal creations that bring a bit of farm charm home. During market hours, visitors can visit and feed the resident goats, take photos, and enjoy a little farm time while shopping. Because everything is seasonal and produced in small batches, the selection changes from one market day to the next…part of the fun of each visit.

Stroll the trails at Indian Mound Reserve to learn which berries, mushrooms, and plants are safe to eat and how to prepare them. Signs along the route highlight edible species. A naturalist will be available to answer questions, and handouts will be available while supplies last. No registration is required, and walk-ins are welcome. Please enter through the Williamson Mound entrance, also referred to as the cabin lot.

At Needle, Ink and Thread, a modern sewing studio, kids and teens can dive into machine sewing in a beginner friendly class with no prerequisites. Enrollment is limited to six students to keep instruction personal and focused. Participants learn how to set up, thread, and operate a sewing machine, including cleaning and maintenance, choosing needles, winding and inserting a bobbin, using common feet and accessories, understanding seam allowances, basic sewing terms, and simple troubleshooting. The session also covers what to include in a starter sewing kit. Please bring a notebook, your machine if you have one along with its manual, thread and an empty bobbin, scissors, and a basic kit with pins and extra needles. Scrap fabric for practice, a 101 handout, and practice sheets are provided, and a machine can be borrowed when requested during registration. Remember to print any provided downloads and bring them to class. Private lessons are available if one on one instruction is preferred.

Bring a notebook, thread, an empty bobbin if you will use your own machine, scissors, manuals for your model, and basic notions such as pins and extra needles. A personal machine is welcome, and the Brother CS6000i is suggested for those considering a purchase. Scissors like the KAI N5230 9 inch bent handle are recommended. Practice fabric, a loaner machine if needed, a Sewing 101 handout, and practice sheets are provided. If you plan to borrow a machine, note this during checkout so one can be set aside for you.

Author and professional cosplayer Annye Driscoll, also known as Maker Fishmeal, will be available for a signing of their new book, The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Fabrics. Their approach celebrates cosplay as joy and as creative self expression, with the belief that everyone can cosplay. An award winning foamsmith, sewist, and propmaker, they have a love for hidden details and super clean seams, and are known as an easy connector with an effervescent, enthusiastic presence.

Season 4 of First Fil-Am Church Got Talent brings an uplifting showcase of performances paired with a shared meal, fellowship, and community, all centered on using creative gifts for God’s glory and supporting a worthy cause. Everyone is welcome. Each ticket includes a meal, with prices of $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets will be available at the door, and inquiries can be directed to Khat Lee, Justina Romig, Lysie Black, or Jo Papadakis. A keepsake souvenir book will be offered, and businesses, families, and friends may reserve space for ads or heartfelt messages by contacting the ticket coordinators. This speed dating gathering at Russ Nature Preserve features a series of brief conversations designed to help attendees meet others with similar interests. The setting is laid-back with refreshments and an upbeat feel that makes mingling easy. Registration is required to participate, and there is no fee.

Learn the foundations of archery in a structured five week training series. Sessions run one hour per week, with all necessary gear provided and personal equipment not permitted. The introductory component is now bundled with the package. Participants must be at least 8 years old and able to take part safely. Attendance during the first week is required, and registration will be cancelled if that session is missed. Refunds are not offered if you cannot make your scheduled appointments, so please plan ahead. Coaches will try to accommodate schedule changes, but a spot on a different day is not guaranteed. An outdoor concert on the lawn spotlights a blend of country, rock, and Southern soul led by rising artist Cassidy Daniels. A North Carolina native now based in Nashville, she fuses country roots with rock energy and honest, soulful storytelling. Following a Top Three finish on the CBS/Paramount series The Road, she has continued to build momentum as both a performer and songwriter, appearing alongside Willie Nelson, Florida Georgia Line, and Billy Currington while shaping a sound that is bold and personal. Sam King & The Suspects open the evening as part of the Projects Unlimited & Wyse Family Foundation Gem Series. This event is part of Tim Tye’s Midnight Sky Country/Americana Series. Guests can settle in on the lawn with chairs or blankets, enjoy local food trucks, and take in a summer night of music and community in downtown Dayton. All are welcome on the lawn.

The GCP&T Trail Sentinels lead a moonlight ride on the region’s bike trails, departing from Xenia Station. This event is free and does not require registration. The average pace is 10 to 13 miles per hour. Riders must be 18 or older, wear a helmet, have lights on their bikes, and carry basic repair items. The Trail Sentinels are a dedicated volunteer group that patrols the trails and coordinates cycling events. If weather or other factors arise, last minute cancellations will be shared on the Greene County Parks and Trails Facebook page. And, for a bit of fun, these rides are all about the ice cream.

Dave Chappelle hosts an exclusive evening of conversation and comedy at Wirrig Pavilion. Attendance is limited to support the safety of all guests. Alcohol will not be sold and is not allowed on the premises. The pavilion is in a rural area where families, pets, and other animals live, so attendees are asked to drive carefully and follow posted speed limits when traveling to and from the venue. All performance content and materials are owned by Pilot Boy Productions, Inc. and Dave Chappelle, and any use without prior written consent is prohibited and enforceable to the full extent of the law. It is a phone-free experience. With confirmation, guests agree to place their phones in a locked pouch that stays with them throughout the evening.

Create a beautiful stained glass sun catcher at Yellow Cab Tavern during a hands-on class where you choose from four different project designs. All glass pieces are pre-cut, so beginners can learn the fundamentals while returning makers build on existing skills. Two session options are available. The cost includes personal instruction and all materials needed to complete one finished piece.
