After fleeing the ceremony and breaking down on the highway, Lovey hides out at the diner while her car gets fixed. To avoid recognition, Sally shows her the ropes of waitressing. Their plan starts to crumble when a nosy news photographer uncovers the truth and alerts Johnny to where she is. The laughs build with a hot-tempered cook, Sally’s geeky boyfriend, an endlessly hungry regular, the world’s worst mechanic, and even Elvis before he was famous. Featuring a cast of all ages, this is an affectionate nod to the golden age of diners with plenty of comic twists.
