The Get Down: Sunday Morning Dance

Kismet Collective, 5401 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa · verified Jul 31
    See details

The Get Down is a dance experience centered on songs that move you. Music greets you as you step onto the floor, starting with gentle tracks that help you settle, breathe, and leave the outside world behind. The set then unfolds through playful and intense moments as well as quieter passages, inviting both release and return. There is no choreography and no experience is required. Move in the way that feels right for you. Stretch, sweat, shake, sing along, rest, lie down, or keep it simple. The music provides the arc and your body chooses the route, whether that means moving big, staying small, staying low to the ground, facing a wall, pausing when you need to, or just letting the rhythm meet you where you are. The floor is held as a focused, respectful space so people can move freely without distraction. Phones and cameras stay off, conversation is kept off the floor, and street shoes are not used. Please honor consent by seeking a clear yes before approaching someone to dance and by accepting a no right away. Capacity is limited to 20. Drop-ins are welcome, and advance registration is available to reserve a spot. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Arrive as you are and move as you are.
