Topics include current trends surrounding active shooter incidents, building situational awareness and assessing threats, strengthening readiness through training, developing a resilient survival mindset, understanding how law enforcement responds, and creating an action plan that can increase the chance of survival. The course is led by experienced instructors with real world backgrounds, offering straightforward guidance that emphasizes preparation, safety, and confident action.

Vendor donation options include a full-season rate of $60 or $5 per individual Saturday, and food trucks or trailers are $10 for each Saturday they set up. The tenth edition of the Baby & Family Expo brings together families and caregivers at YWCA NETN and SWVA for a free, family-focused showcase of services, products, and community resources for babies and young children. The first 200 attendees receive goodie bags, adding a little extra excitement to a day designed to make it easy to explore everything in one place. Attendees can browse specialty and unique items for all ages, place bids in a silent auction, and gather information on activities and programs for children. Johnson City Country Club hosts the 13th annual Pakrul Par 3 Tournament in support of The 2nd Century Foundation. The course is set so that every hole plays as a par 3, offering a quick pace and an inviting challenge for golfers of any experience level. Two-player teams can register for $250, and the field is limited, so spots are expected to go fast. Hole sponsorships are available for $300, with acknowledgment provided during the tournament. Better Together grew from conversations with peers seeking time in nature with others and a space open to mental health and substance use disorder peer support.
