Now in its sixth year, the Arlington Community 5K brings the community together at Fish Creek Neighborhood Park to celebrate fitness and local impact. The event is hosted in collaboration by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Xi Theta Omega Chapter and The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, and supports program initiatives that benefit residents of Arlington, Texas and nearby communities. Participants of all levels can take part by running or walking, and a virtual option is available for remote participation. Entry fees vary by registration period, with the 5K Run/Walk priced at $45 or $55 and the Virtual 5K at $50. Every participant receives a T shirt and a finisher medal. Race day features check in, stretching, the 5K start, and awards after participants complete the course.

Hope Hustle 5K: Running Toward Brighter Futures has moved to Epic Central in Grand Prairie. The new venue features scenic surroundings and a lively atmosphere, with restaurants and entertainment close by that make it easy to plan a family-friendly day. The update brings a fresh energy to the race and sets the stage for a memorable experience.

A friendly weekly road ride rolls out from the Trek South Arlington store, offering a chance to sharpen bike handling, connect with other cyclists, and enjoy a social spin. Riders gather in the parking lot and depart together, with several pace groups and distances to choose from. Options include a 26 mile no drop group averaging 14 to 16 MPH with Trek Advocates, a 45 mile drop group averaging 16 to 18 MPH with Jim Rose LORBA, and a 67 mile drop group averaging 19 to 21 MPH with VeloSouth on the Cedar Hill_Midlo_Goodland V.2 route. VeloSouth routes alternate weekly. Expect rolling hills with some flats. Rest stops are available only on routes of 60 miles or more, and other groups will regroup as needed. Ride marshals will be announced before departure. Download all routes in advance. If it is raining or the roads are wet, the ride will be canceled, and updates will be shared in the group. A helmet and a taillight are required. Follow traffic laws and ride leaders, and watch out for fellow cyclists.

It is a practical way to explore how a car handles in different conditions while building skills behind the wheel. Registration opens two weeks before the event. A typical schedule offers around five runs in the morning and five more in the afternoon, with the exact number dependent on the weather.
