Glide into twilight on a calm stretch of the Greenbelt as the day cools and the river settles. This relaxed paddle focuses on atmosphere rather than speed, with a gentle float that starts and ends at the historic iron bridge and heads south beneath a leafy evening canopy. As dusk deepens, hundreds of martins gather near the bridge, fireflies begin to glow, bats sweep overhead, and a chorus of frogs rises from the banks. You may hear beavers moving through the brush and owls waking in the distance while the current stays mellow and obstacles remain manageable. Plan for an easy, dry launch with a smooth shoreline entry that is friendly for beginners. Free POP Board demos are available at checkout only, gift cards are accepted toward booking, and discounted rentals are offered in advance with no onsite rentals available. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are by reservation only. With your paddle wristband, receive $5 off a $15 purchase at The Juicy Pig. Exclusive Greenbelt Otter stickers and gear are available online at checkout only, with no onsite sales. Alcoholic beverages should be in opaque containers. Evening paddles are typically cooler and more comfortable, though humidity can linger near the water. Bring water, consider bug spray, carry a small dry bag for essentials, and add glow lights or a headlamp. A light snack can be helpful. Twilight slots are limited due to launch timing and daylight windows. Included with this experience are a 2 foot glow stick and a free 2 inch mini flashlight.
