Celebrate the season’s finale with a relaxed river hang on a favorite stretch of the Greenbelt. The format is simple and unhurried, with no fixed route or group pace. Start at the FM 428 Greenbelt canoe launch, paddle roughly two miles downstream, then settle into a shaded riverside spot with music, floating, swimming, and time to unwind. Bring lunch, snacks, and your favorite sips, and stay as long as you like. Registration is $5 and includes an Adventure Paddles wristband that unlocks special perks with participating local businesses even after the river day wraps up. A Texas State Park Day Pass is required and is purchased separately for $7 per person. Paddlers are welcome to bring their own boards, kayaks, tubes, or floats. The current on this section is minimal, so floats need to be towed by a paddleboard or kayak to reach the gathering downstream. Rentals are available for a single flat rate of $35 for the day, picked up at the FM 428 Greenbelt canoe launch before the group heads downriver. Late pickups and equipment swaps are not available. For added ease, an optional VIP Floats upgrade is available for $15 and includes premium floats, floating lounge gear, access to a floating hangout, and complimentary ice-cold Ozarka water. Quantities are limited. Pack essentials such as plenty of water, sunscreen, a towel, water shoes, a dry bag, and a properly fitted PFD. PFDs are required while paddling. Please carry out everything you bring to help keep the Greenbelt beautiful. If weather or river conditions change, registered guests will receive updates.
