Vince Lujan

North Texas singer songwriter Vince Lujan marks his birthday with an intimate acoustic evening that returns to where it all began, centered on a guitar, a voice, and the stories that shaped his music. Stepping away from the full band sound many across Texas know, he offers a solo set with no accompaniment. The spotlight stays on the songs themselves, the memories behind them, and the connection that set him on his musical path. Over almost twenty years he has built a name as a songwriter, performer, and bandleader whose work blends Texas influences while staying deeply personal. The program features original favorites, fresh takes on familiar tunes, and reflections from the road, delivered with the warmth and openhearted sincerity that listeners in Denton associate with him. Part concert, part birthday celebration, and part friendly gathering, this special night offers a closer look at the heart of his songs and the experiences that give them life.

Wildlife / Twilight Paddle | 2 Mile

Glide through the Greenbelt at twilight on a relaxed 2 mile paddle where the heat eases, the river settles, and evening wildlife takes the stage. Fireflies shimmer beneath the canopy, hundreds of martins circle the historic iron bridge, and bats sweep overhead as frogs and owls add their voices from the banks. This outing favors atmosphere over speed, inviting a slow drift south through one of North Texas’ most scenic river corridors as daylight fades and the water grows calm. The route begins and ends near the historic iron bridge, and the current stays gentle with manageable obstacles for a serene experience. Rentals are available by reservation only, with discounted options offered in advance and no onsite rentals. Expect a dry, smooth shoreline entry that is beginner friendly. Free Pop Board demos are available at checkout only, and gift cards can be applied to a booking. Show your paddle wristband to receive $5 off a $15 purchase at The Juicy Pig. Exclusive Greenbelt Otter stickers and gear are available online at checkout only, with no onsite sales. Evening conditions are typically cooler, though humidity can linger near the water. Participants should bring water, consider bug spray, carry a small dry bag for essentials, and use glow lights or a headlamp. Light snacks are welcome. What is included for the paddle are 2 foot glow sticks and a free 2 inch mini flashlight. Alcoholic beverages should be in opaque containers. Spots are limited because of launch timing and daylight windows, and the mood on the water tends to turn quiet and social as small groups drift together beneath the fading sky for a blend of gentle adventure and nature therapy.

Back roads Trip

A relaxed back roads drive begins at the 7-Eleven in Krum, Texas around sundown, combining stretches of dirt and asphalt. The route travels west and then north into the grasslands north of Decatur along a newly planned path expected to take about an hour and a half to two hours. A mid-route stop is planned for restroom access, photos, and time by the lake, and the drive concludes at Villa Grande on 287. Participants are encouraged to carry GMRS radios, likely tuned to channel 15. It offers a calm nighttime cruise through wide open countryside.
