This weekend in Denton, TX

UNT en Familia is a free, bilingual event offered in English and Spanish for families. Attendees can get guidance on paying for college, talk with student organizations, and stop by the Next Step Station to complete important tasks. Everyone who participates is eligible to enter a drawing for a $500 Green & White Tuition Award. All are welcome.

More Fun Game Center hosts an open trading card game play session where newcomers and experienced players can connect, play friendly matches, and explore new titles. Participation is free.

Compete in a Magic: The Gathering Standard Showdown at More Fun Game Center. The tournament features three to four Swiss rounds, with a possible cut to a top four depending on turnout. Entry is $5, and all entries are paid out as store credit: 75 percent to the winner along with the current Standard Showdown promo, and 25 percent to the runner-up.

Weekly Gundam Card Game play takes place at More Fun Game Center near the Denton Square. The event uses a constructed format with three Swiss rounds, and each round is a single-game match. Entry costs nothing, and it is free for the time being because prizing is not currently offered.

More Fun Game Center hosts a weekly Lorcana league using the Core constructed format. Play begins with up to five Swiss rounds, each 55 minutes and played as two game matches. Depending on how many players enter, a top cut may follow, with Top 8 and Top 4 set as 70 minute best of three matches. The final is best of three with no time limit.

Houston Christian travels to Denton to take on North Texas at DATCU Stadium in an in-state football matchup. Contrasting on-field styles and a shared urgency set the tone as both teams work to shape their season. A lively campus setting and key playmakers in a competitive environment await followers of Texas football.

Enjoy karaoke hosted by Richard Underwood. Seating is limited, so arriving early is recommended. Dinner is available late into the night, making it easy to relax and enjoy the music.
