    Shark Infested Waters 1 Mile

Post Oak Creek , 21 Ronda St, Sherman
    See details

The creek is low and slow, about 3 to 4 feet deep, and the distance covered is typically around a mile or less. Ice cold water is provided, and the paddle is narrated. Design Your Own Fair Isle Knitting Project

    101 E Main St, Denison
    See details

Explore how to create an original Fair Isle design in a focused, paper-based workshop centered on accessories such as ski hats, headbands, Tam o’ Shanters, fisherman’s keps, mittens, gloves, and socks. Instruction also addresses how the same principles can extend to jumpers and cardigans. Participants work through building a personalized pattern in fingering weight yarn or traditional 2-ply jumper weight wool, supported by practical tools, templates, and clear guidance. Registration includes a 200-page hardcover by Jennifer Daley, Fair Isle Knitting Design Workbook: Create Original Stranded Colorwork Accessories in Shetland Wool. This hands-on manual offers design exercises, project activities, garment pattern templates, and structured opportunities to practice and refine new ideas. While the workbook emphasizes accessories, the concepts can inform larger garments as well. The session is devoted to planning on paper rather than knitting. Bring only a pencil and eraser if preferred, or enhance the process with colored pencils, a measuring tape, inspirational images or books, specific ideas about color, motifs, shape, and fit, an existing Fair Isle piece that sparks a new design, fingering weight yarn from a personal stash to select colorways, or color cards from a favorite fingering weight brand.
