The course follows the park’s large loop, and five laps total just short of a 5K by 1,138 feet. After each lap, participants select a card and work toward the best five-card poker hand by the finish. Registration fees are $20 for early registration, $25 for standard registration, and $30 for on-site registration. Early registration includes a t-shirt and a participation medal, and payment is required at the time of registration. Strollers are welcome on the course, and children who are not in a stroller must be registered participants. The DESNA CUP is a grass quads volleyball tournament at Saghalie Middle School with Upper, Lower, and Women’s divisions. The Upper Division has a $250 team entry and offers cash prizes of $3,400 for first place and $800 for second. The Lower Division has a $200 team entry and splits into Gold and Silver after pool play, with Gold awarding $800 for first and $400 for second, and Silver awarding $400 for first and $200 for second. The Women’s Division has a $200 team entry with $1,200 for first place and $300 for second. Play begins with pool play using a single game to 21, capped at 21. Brackets are set immediately after pool play and matches proceed without a scheduled lunch break. The Lower Division separates into Gold and Silver brackets after pool play. Tardy teams may have to start with the players on hand or forfeit a round if not ready at the start of play. Bracket play is double elimination. Winners bracket matches are to 21, 21, and 15. The first round of the losers bracket is 21, 21, and 15, and the second round of the losers bracket is a single game to 25 with no cap. Sportsmanship is required on and off the court. Each bracket match has a referee and all calls are final. Rules include three contacts allowed after a block, doubles will be called, no open hand tips, and no open hand serve receive. No roster substitutions are allowed. If a player is injured, a replacement may come from a team no longer in the tournament and must be of equal or lower level with opponent approval. If setting the ball over the net, the setter must be square to the target. Any contact with the net, including clothing, is a net violation. Winners in both divisions receive prizes and on-stage medal presentations. Entry fees are nonrefundable unless the team secures a replacement. LCNW’s annual Specialty and potluck picnic takes place at Nolte State Park as Leo Wonderland, a full day in the outdoors for Leonberger families and enthusiasts. The centerpiece is the LCNW Specialty, a European-style traditional club show with an entry fee, with juniors and peewees exempt. The schedule also features a free potluck picnic that is open to all with an RSVP, a no-cost fun course with trick stations, the LCNW annual meeting, and a raffle table that welcomes items from attendees. The fun course is suitable for Leonbergers of any age and includes stations that can count toward AKC Tricks. Participants record their dogs completing the exercises and submit the videos to an AKC evaluator. Premium and registration information will be available in early summer 2026. Show entries close in late July, and all forms and payments must be received by that deadline. A picnic-only option is offered for those not entering the show or not showing a Leonberger, and the park provides trails and a swimming lake for a relaxed day. Presented with JC Logan Lodge No.53, this panel discussion explores the Covenant Homeownership Program and the support it provides to first-time homebuyers. The conversation will outline how the program offers down payment and closing cost assistance through a subordinate loan with a 0 percent interest rate that is repaid when the home is sold or refinanced. Speakers will also review key eligibility details, including household income at or below 100 percent of area median income, having a parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent who lived in Washington before April 1968 and who is Black, Hispanic, Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, Korean, or Asian Indian, and completion of a WSHFC five-hour homeownership class.
