Now in its second year, this weekly volunteer effort focuses on sprucing up the Waterfront District. Volunteers gather at the Port Angeles Downtown Fountain, then spread out along nearby streets to remove weeds from planter beds, tree wells, sidewalk cracks, and along the curbs. They also address moss, algae stains on concrete, and unattended waste to keep walkways clean. If the weather is poor, the session is canceled. Those arriving after the start can look for the team working somewhere in the Waterfront District rather than at the fountain. Participants should bring their own gloves and are encouraged to bring tools, since shared supplies may run short.

Build confidence with a free computer class designed for complete beginners as well as those who want to refresh their skills. Learn at your own pace with guidance from library staff, with topics that can range from using a mouse to creating spreadsheets in Excel. These 90-minute NorthStar Digital Literacy sessions adjust to the needs and interests of participants. Space is limited to nine people and advance registration is required. Laptops are available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have one.

A free community lunch offers support for neighbors experiencing food insecurity or other challenges. Contributions are welcome, including a pot of hot soup, a side salad, pre-made and wrapped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or baked goods. Gently used clothing is also appreciated, such as socks and gloves in all sizes. Donations may be dropped off without staying, or volunteers may choose to remain and help.
