A live glassblowing demonstration featuring guest artists Jason Christian and Dan Friday honors the 35th year of Seattle Glassblowing Studio. Based in the Seattle area, Jason Christian began working with glass at 21 as a hotshop charger, building his skills through hands-on experience. He has collaborated with many well-known artists in the local community and spent more than a decade on Dale Chihuly’s boathouse team, working with international artists such as Pino Singnoretti. His personal work explores reticello, classical Venetian methods, and modern simplicity. Dan Friday, a member of the Lummi Nation and a Skagit Valley based artist, has focused on glass for 30 years. He has taught at the University of Washington, Evergreen State Collage, Pilchuck Glass School, Pendland School of Craft, the Chrysler Museum, and the Haystack Craft Center. In 2017 he started the Native Youth outreach Program at Pilchuck Glass School. The themes and imagery in his work are drawn from his Coast Salish heritage and are realized through glass. This demonstration brings together two artists whose practices span time-honored techniques and culturally rooted storytelling within contemporary glass art.

Seattle’s drizzle, upscale coffee culture, and fleece-vested tech scene frame a pitch-black, improvised murder mystery where survival is anything but certain. In its fifth year, this Jet City Improv production begins with each performer secretly assigned as the Survivor, the Victim, or the Murderer, and none of them knows the others’ roles. The audience helps guide the narrative, votes on the likely culprit, and finds out if those guesses were right when the truth comes to light. Before the story concludes, most of the cast meets a grisly fate, blending suspense with a darkly comic edge rooted in the Pacific Northwest. Content warning: horror themes and staged depictions of killing and violence are included, presented with a comedic wink, and may not be suitable for the faint of heart.

STG Presents and Live Nation bring Malcolm Todd’s Do That Again Tour to The Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Composer Fabio Frizzi brings FRIZZI2FULCI to the stage with Ethan McCarthy, presenting a concert tribute to the films of Lucio Fulci. Rooted in Frizzi’s longstanding collaboration with the director, the performance centers on well known themes from cult favorites such as Four of the Apocalypse, Zombi 2, City of the Living Dead, and The Beyond... and You Will Live in Terror, delivered in a rock and prog concert setting. Launched in 2013, the project debuted at London’s Union Chapel to a sold out audience and has since toured widely through Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, and the United States, including ten national tours. Frizzi has also created Cineconcert editions known as the Composer’s Cut for The Beyond and Zombi 2, presenting newly reworked scores performed live with his musicians during on-screen showings to revisit Italian genre cinema in a new light. The lineup features Ethan Lee McCarthy, a Denver based underground metal musician, multidisciplinary visual artist, and booking agent, recognized as the vocalist and guitarist of Primitive Man and associated with intensely heavy, abrasive soundscapes shaped by two decades in extreme DIY scenes.

Sidney Hauser brings her new dreampop fusion project, Other Kinds, to Southgate Roller Rink, featuring vocalist Nik Singleton of Midnight High with Dylan Hayes on keys and synth, Adam Kessler on drums, and Trevor Ford on bass. An Earshot Jazz Festival resident artist, Hauser is known for a blend of precise technique and adventurous, genre-blurring drive. In 2017 she became the first full-time female member of the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra and now plays lead alto, and she has also performed with the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, the Afro-Latin funk collective The New Triumph, and many groups throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her collaborations include appearances alongside Joshua Redman, Maria Schneider, Christian McBride, Branford Marsalis, Tia Fuller, Ben Wendel, and Anat Cohen. Cousins Tanner and Sylas Morgan channel a family lineage of musicians into a sound driven by heavy low end and threaded with pop, rock, and rap. Sylas brings a decade of club and bar DJ experience across the United States, pairing keen sample selection with incisive verses, while Tanner contributes vocal range and multi-instrumental skill on more than ten instruments. Formed in 2020, the project has built momentum with live sets that blend the charge of a DJ performance with the texture of real instruments, weaving in drums, guitar, violin, and vocals. Their tracks have earned play from top DJs, and a national tour was slated for 2025.
