Ryan Thompson brings a summer residency of live music to Waterfront Mary’s, taking place every Thursday. This ongoing weekly series offers regular performances throughout the season.

A private, ticketed wine event sponsored by Wisconsin Cheese Masters welcomes attendees to the theatre lobby for an evening of tasting and conversation. At Third Avenue PlayWorks in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, The Call List by Brian James Polak is a darkly comic exploration of being alive. Sam, a law firm employee with a restless streak and a notebook always at hand, receives a seemingly simple assignment... call a list of names to share a client’s passing. The task pulls her into an offbeat trail of clues that mixes wit with heart and leads to revelations that are more personal than she expects. Directed by Jacob Janssen and featuring Eva Nimmer, this production is part of the World Premiere Wisconsin Festival. The creative team includes set design by Alex Polzin, lighting by Colin Gawronski, costumes by Kaoime Malloy, sound by Grover Hollway, production stage management by Kelsey Brennan York, and properties by Haley Anne Cranstoun. A karaoke session hosted by DJ Tyler gives anyone who wants to sing a turn at the mic to perform favorite songs.

An opening night reception for ticket holders, sponsored by Bite the Farm, takes place on the first Friday of each show’s run. Before the show, gluten-free desserts are provided by Bite the Farm. Afterward, a champagne toast with Artistic Director Jacob Janssen is planned, and the actors gather in the lobby to mingle with patrons. Each opening is treated as a celebration.

Spartan DEKA and FIRE Fitness Camp Sturgeon Bay introduce a fitness challenge that measures performance, adds a game-like scoring element, and celebrates progress. DEKA STRONG features ten functional training zones with no running, offering a focused test of strength and conditioning. Participants can record a DEKA STRONG mark to track improvement and use it as momentum toward DEKA FIT 2026. Space is limited.

Door County Fire Company features a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar with more than 15 garnishes so every glass can be customized. Toppings include crispy bacon, cheese cubes, pickles, olives, shrimp, spicy peppers, cherry tomatoes, and celery, with plenty more to stack on. Located in the entertainment district, you can take your drink with you while browsing the farmers market and strolling through town.

Drop in for pony rides and explore onsite activities. Rides are $15 for five laps around the corral, and no reservation is required. Check in and pay upon arrival. Each horse is led on a lead line by a trainer. Riders must be children older than 1 year and must weigh 80 pounds or less. Helmets are mandatory, and sanitized helmets are provided. At Cherry Lanes, an arm wrestling competition invites participants to weigh in before matches begin. Divisions include kids ages 2 to 17, women’s open at 70 kg and over 70 kg, and men’s amateur and open at 70, 78, 86, 95, 105, and over 105 kg. Entry fees are 5 dollars for kids, 10 dollars for amateurs, 10 dollars for women, and 20 dollars for the men’s open, with awards given to the top three in each class. The women’s and men’s open divisions feature cash prizes along with bragging rights. Whether competing or watching from the sidelines, expect a lively day of strength contests and friendly rivalry.

Gregg 'Cheech' Hall brings a solo set to Door County Brewing Co., channeling the renegade spirit of outlaw country with a gritty blend of country, blues, and rock and roll. A La Crosse native and founder of Deece Productions, he crafts lyrics shaped by river life and dirt-road dance floors, drawing on years spent roaming the country and collaborating with an eclectic mix of roots musicians. His work includes a Nashville album produced by Johnny Garcia, longtime guitarist for Garth Brooks, reflecting a career steeped in heart, road miles, and river rhythms.

Celebrate the culmination of a 1,200+ mile Ice Age Trail journey that has unfolded over more than six years of yellow blazes, road walks, muddy shoes, wrong turns, spider webs, laughter, and tears. The plan is to touch both endpoints on the final day, beginning at the Western Terminus at St. Croix and concluding at the Ice Age Trail’s Eastern Terminus at Potawatomi State Park. The exact finish timing is flexible due to the cross-state travel, and the organizer intends to share updates as the day progresses. Adding special meaning, the hiker’s parents are traveling from the UK and will accompany the last mile. This moment recognizes everyone who offered miles, shuttles, encouragement, laughs, check-ins, and support along the way. Attendees are welcome to walk a short stretch, cheer at the finish, share favorite memories, or simply witness the last yellow blaze. A casual parking lot tailgate with some refreshments is planned, plans may shift, and it is BYOB. Expect gratitude, plenty of smiles, a few tears, and some well-worn hiking shoes.

An adult acting workshop for ages 18 and over welcomes participants of every experience level. This six-week series follows a consistent format each session, beginning with improvisation and theater exercises, then moving into acting technique and character development applied to scene work. The curriculum focuses on scene study and monologue preparation. After the initial six weeks, weekly drop-in workshops continue with an emphasis on improv and theater games. Scholarships are available through support from Bader Philanthropies. The six-week program has a suggested value of $150, and drop-in classes carry a suggested fee of $25 per session.
