The Melt Yard turns The New Fashioned in Milwaukee’s Deer District into an energetic open-air hangout that celebrates Wisconsin summer with one irresistible theme... melty cheese. Visitors can dig into grilled cheese sandwiches and sweet-and-savory s’mores, try an oversized cheese pull challenge, snap cheesy photos, and relax with backyard-style games that are easy to enjoy with friends. Cold refreshment is part of the fun too, with options like Beren’s Brandy Old Fashioneds, Tito’s Bloody Marys, and Monster Energy drinks. Pup Pull Saturdays presented by Tito’s brings a dog-friendly focus with pup cups, treats, photo ops, and prizes, and three HAWS Adoptable Dog Days are also planned. The Melt Yard is supported by Beren’s Old Fashioned Brandy, Visit Milwaukee, Tito’s, Monster Energy, Gruber Law Offices, and Bars & Recreation.

Celebrate emerging musicians as Girls Rock MKE campers take the stage for a culminating concert of original songs. For the first time, the showcase takes place at The Cooperage. Over the course of the week, participants of all skill levels learn a rock instrument, form bands, write music, and then perform what they created. This family-friendly event welcomes all ages. Admission is offered on a sliding scale of $10 to $20 to support Girls Rock MKE camp operations, and children 10 and under are admitted free. Merchandise and refreshments will be available. Each camper receives two complimentary tickets on the final day of camp. Girls Rock MKE works to empower people with marginalized identities and diverse experiences through music education and performance, expanding opportunities in a safe, supportive community where collaboration fuels growth and music can spark individual and social change. The Corners brings back its free, family-friendly outdoor movie nights presented by Aspire Dance Center, turning Market Square into an open-air theater with a 20-foot screen. This installment features Tangled and includes a meet and greet with the Tower Princess, face painting, and sweet treats available for purchase from Wood'r Ice. Sponsors and vendors will be on site to visit before the film.

Presented by the City of Brookfield Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, this annual summer concert series brings live music to the middle of the week. Every Wednesday features a different musical guest, offering a rotating lineup that keeps each performance fresh.

Open to participants from age three through adults, this program features Karen Albrecht, the Butterfly Lady, who will explain the challenges monarch butterflies face and practical steps people can take to support them. If the weather cooperates, the experience concludes with a live butterfly release.

If weather becomes unsafe, such as heavy rain or wind, thunderstorms, heat advisories, or an air quality index above 150, the gathering will move indoors to Center Street Library and begin a bit later, with Milwaukee Public Libraries hosting.

Marking its 45th year, WMMC presents an evening car show at City CDJRF with a shine-after-dark atmosphere. Spectator admission is free. Vehicle entrants pay a $10 registration fee, with discounted rates available to WMMC members. Food and drinks will be available, and attendees can browse club merchandise and souvenirs. Judging will cover 12 classes and will be conducted later in the event. A backup date is planned if weather does not cooperate.
