Kraken Swim Club will participate in United Way’s Day of Caring, coming together with the community to create a positive difference. The effort is open to all.

Support the Pettis family through a Halloween BYOP doubles disc golf fundraiser at Big Eau Pleine County Park in Mosinee. The event was organized after Matt and Melissa Pettis found their son unresponsive following a nap and he was airlifted to Marshfield Medical Center, creating added expenses and lost income as they focus on his care. Teams will play one round of 19 holes. Entry is $25 per team. This is a 50/50 payout tournament, with half of entry fees paid out and half donated to the Pettis family.

Learn easy and fun looks for medium to long hair with guidance from a professional stylist. This session is designed for children ages 8 to 11 attending with their adult. Space is limited, so registration is required.

This free, family friendly Halloween outing in downtown Stevens Point features trick or treating at participating businesses throughout the district. Children can collect candy and show off their costumes while enjoying games and festive surprises around every corner. The Square comes alive with lively witch dance performances. Creativity takes center stage in the Golden Ticket costume contest as downtown business owners hand out special tickets to favorite looks, and ticket holders go into a prize basket drawing. Four legged companions can get in on the fun with a pet costume contest. Capture the moment at themed photo spots around downtown, presented with support from First State Bank. Explore unique shops, restaurants, and local businesses while making seasonal memories. Free to attend and open to all.

With a $3 suggested donation to Toys for Tots, guests of any age can navigate a haunted maze, visit a fortune teller, enjoy a game, and capture photo opportunities. This is a first-time effort, so patience is appreciated and the goal is simply to have fun.

The Miss Wisconsin Rapids and Miss Wisconsin’s Teen Competition at the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids will crown the 50th Miss Wisconsin Rapids along with the new Miss Wisconsin Rapids’ Teen. Tickets will be available for purchase.

Heritage Park hosts a history-inspired trick-or-treat experience presented by the Portage County Historical Society in collaboration with the Portage County Business Council. Families can wear costumes and explore 11 preserved buildings while picking up treats and small giveaways from 20 or more local businesses. There is no cost to attend. Period-themed outfits are welcome, though any costume is fine. Organizations that want to distribute candy can register in advance.

Celebrate the season at a free community gathering in St. Luke’s south parking lot. Walk between festively decorated cars for games and sweet treats, then enjoy complimentary hot dogs, chips, and hot chocolate served in the shelter house. Snap photos in a playful booth, try to win a pumpkin by estimating its weight, and help choose the favorite trunk with your vote.
