Hockey Academy of New England presents elite summer hockey camps at the Sports Center of Connecticut in Shelton. They will also get practical experience with Blockbench and learn to code procedures in MCreator using a block-based language. Recommended for ages 7 and up, it provides a creative path to turn imaginative ideas into playable features.

Explore the fundamentals of circus and physical theater in an inclusive, high-energy camp that welcomes athletes, puzzle solvers, and daredevils alike. Test balance on boards or stilts, hone coordination with juggling and plate spinning, and build courage on the tightrope. The program draws on circus traditions from around the world and follows one simple principle... believe you can, and you will. The session culminates in a participant-led skill share for friends and family. Led by instructor Cynthia Rauschert at the Fairfield University Store. Open to ages 8 and up. No prior experience required.

A weekly Art Group at the FRE Recovery Community Center takes place at Family ReEntry CRJ and focuses on the healing role of creativity in recovery. Participants can use art to ease stress, express feelings, and grow confidence while connecting with others in a friendly, supportive setting. No prior art experience is needed, and people at any skill level are welcome.

Campers dive into robotics and coding using micro:bit boards and CuteBot robotic cars with the MakeCode editor. They will program movement, adjust speed, navigate obstacles, and practice following lines while discovering how code controls real-world hardware. Each session focuses on hands-on learning and problem solving, leading to personalized creations that highlight new skills. Enjoy a sunset paddle at Indian Well State Park on the calm waters of Lake Housatonic. The outing lasts about one to one and a half hours and welcomes beginners and experienced paddlers using kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, or other non-motorized boats. Advance reservations are available through Scoot & Paddle under Book Now → Indian Well State Park. Rentals are offered at $30 for a single kayak or paddleboard and $45 for a double kayak. If renting, complete your waiver ahead of time because cell service at the park is limited. Bringing your own boat is free. For safety, bring a PFD life jacket and a whistle. With guidance from the Grace Education Team, participants will tinker, construct, take things apart, and make new discoveries while tracing the life cycle of the materials that shape the built world. Imagination leads the way as everyday items become unexpected creations.

A manifestation ceremony centered on the solar eclipse in Leo focuses on fresh starts and transformation. Led by Elizabeth, the experience blends ceremonial drumming with guided reflection to help participants connect with the Sun and the Leo new moon, uncover meaningful insights, and align with the changes and growth this eclipse encourages. The intention is to open space for guidance from Spirit, illuminate the path ahead, and support the realization of big dreams. Please bring a crystal to charge and a notebook or journal for personal notes. Cost is $40.

Park City Music Hall hosts a night with the Bella Rayne Band, a high-energy, guitar-focused outfit that blends soulful Southern rock, modern Americana, and reinterpretations of Grateful Dead material alongside original songs. General admission is $20 plus online ticketing fees. All ages are welcome, and anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Led by 18-year-old Bella Rayne, a self-taught guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter born in the mountains of North Carolina and raised on the Mendocino coast of California, the group channels jam band verve, 90s grunge bite, and a vibrant psychedelic streak. She picked up an old Stratocaster during the pandemic, learned by ear, and forged a sound that draws from rock, Americana, bluegrass, and the jam tradition. Her rapid rise includes performances with Allman Betts Family Revival, Melvin Seals & JGB, ALO, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge, and members of Terrapin Family, along with recognition in Guitar World from Susan Tedeschi. A standout moment was being entrusted by the Grateful Guitars Foundation to play Jerry Garcia’s storied Alligator guitar. Beyond the stage, she partners with the foundation to support music education and encourage young people, especially girls, to pick up instruments. The band features a young roster of seasoned players and continues to gain traction at venues and festivals. The venue offers a full bar and kitchen serving craft cocktails and tasty bites. Food service begins when doors open and continues until the Kitchen Open light is turned off. Seating is limited since the room is primarily standing room, and when available it is first come, first served.

The Downtown Bridgeport Farmers Market, announced by the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District, takes place at McLevy Green. The season opens with a live cooking demonstration from Chef Raquel Rivera of A Pinch of Salt, performances by local musicians, a mix of food offerings and handmade goods from local vendors, and interactive art activities led by cARTie, the Art Museum Bus. Throughout the season, the market features live music each week and occasional cooking demos with Chef Raquel and Deja Smith of Khemi’s Vegan Cuisine, along with fresh vegetables and a variety of lunch options. At StageOne in Fairfield, CT, Early Elton Trio pays tribute to Elton John’s early trio tours with Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson from 1970 to 1972. The group features Jeff Kazee of Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes on piano and vocals, Rich Pagano of The Fab Faux on drums and vocals, and John Conte of Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes on bass and vocals. Inspired by a time when Elton reshaped his music for a lean three piece, the performance channels an unpolished, heartfelt energy. The musicians have dug into rare footage, bootlegs and Elton’s own home demos to craft a set that balances faithfulness with fresh ideas while keeping the feel, atmosphere and drive of those formative tours.
