Cyclists of every age and skill level can explore peaceful, flat Amish countryside on the 40th Annual Amish Country Bike Tour, choosing routes of 16, 25, 50, 62, or 100 miles. Routes can be previewed in advance, and this is a ride, not a race. Every route stops at the Amish Country School House for freshly baked pie. Depending on the distance, riders will have up to five rest stops and enjoy beverages, snacks, lunch at the finish, and music and entertainment. Volunteers are organizing the event, and participants are encouraged to review Delaware cycling laws before they ride. Garron has performed this tribute since 1997 and presents it with respect, using the name of Elvis’s twin brother who passed at birth to honor the legacy while recognizing there was only one Elvis. His passion began in early childhood and led to a standout high school performance at 17, which opened doors to larger stages and eventually to venues across the country, often playing to full houses. His journey includes an invitation to perform for the US Embassy in Algiers and recognition from legendary Elvis guitarist James Burton after a show in Louisiana. Audiences who saw Elvis live, along with people connected to the Presley family, frequently praise the authenticity of his portrayal. The production has drawn widespread media attention through billboards, radio, television, and feature articles, and in 2019 he was inducted into the International Elvis Tribute Artist Hall of Fame for his dedication to preserving the King’s legacy.

The 9th annual Mid-Shore S.T.E.M. Festival celebrates imagination and innovation with a free event welcoming youth of all ages. Expect hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and chances to explore STEM career pathways. This edition highlights artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies while showing how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics shape everyday life. Anyone curious about robotics, coding, engineering, agriculture, healthcare, environmental science, or simply how things work will find plenty to discover. Ages 16 and up can learn how to turn plastic bags into plarn, or plastic yarn, that is then crocheted into mats for people experiencing homelessness. Over the past seven years, Bags2Mats volunteers have prepared plarn, crocheted, and gifted more than 4,000 mats statewide. The program is led by the State Office of Volunteerism and Volunteer Delaware 50+. Preregistration is required, and because the program is held before normal library business hours, only those who have preregistered may participate.

Milton Theatre presents Tarkus, a tribute dedicated to the innovative music and compositional vision of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The performance focuses on honoring the groundbreaking work of this iconic trio through faithful musicianship and deep respect for their legacy. Keyboardist Keith Turner grew up at the piano during the 60s and 70s amid R&B, classic rock, and Motown. He studied music at CCC while writing and performing both original material and ELP pieces for a class that included the late Billy Paul, and he cites Keith Emerson among his earliest influences. Multi-instrumentalist Mike comes from the New Jersey and Philadelphia music community and a family steeped in song, starting on drums like his older brother John. He later took up guitar at age 11 and studied with New Jersey jazz instructor Bill Johnson, with household favorites ranging from Genesis and Yes to ELP and The Beatles. Drummer John began playing at 13, inspired by John Bonham, Carl Palmer, Dave Weckl, and Buddy Rich. After lessons with local teachers and time in school bands, he performed in area clubs, graduated with honors from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, toured the Las Vegas casino circuit, and played around the world on cruise ships before returning to Delaware to pursue demanding projects such as Tarkus. This concert shines a light on the adventurous spirit and intricate arrangements that defined Emerson, Lake & Palmer, brought to life by musicians whose backgrounds span rock, jazz, and progressive traditions.

A free, drive-thru food distribution takes place at Goldsboro VFC in any weather. Held on the second Saturday of each month, it aims to help individuals and families manage rising costs of groceries and gas. Volunteers are welcome to assist with the effort.

This Tunnel to Towers 5K run and walk pays tribute on the 25th anniversary of September 11, honoring the 406 first responders and nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, while also recognizing the daily sacrifices of first responders and members of the military. Registration, donations, and sponsorships are open.

This annual Fall Craft Show features more than 65 vendors offering handmade crafts and other goods. Attendees can browse for Christmas gifts and other homemade specialties. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and a bake table will be stocked with homemade treats. The show is juried, so prospective vendors must apply. To help prevent scams, the craft show team will contact vendors only by email and accepts deposit payments by cash or check, and they will remove scam comments as they appear.

Journal sales will be featured at the Holiday Shoppes at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, alongside many other vendors. The specific booth location for this seller will be announced once assigned.

Delmarva Big Band brings Duke Ellington’s The Nutcracker Suite to life, showcasing the jazz reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky crafted by Ellington with Billy Strayhorn. An 18 member orchestra fills the stage with four trumpets, four trombones, five saxophones, and a full rhythm section of piano, bass, guitar, and drums, plus a vocalist. Audiences can look forward to tight brass and woodwind harmonies, flowing saxophone lines, featured solos, and a driving pulse from the rhythm section.
